We've put together some specially selected series so Game of Thrones fans won't be left helpless after the series ends.

Our Sundays will never be the same now that Game of Thrones ended. No dragons, no political schemes for the Throne, without knowing more about the other houses of Westeros, Arya Stark's adventures beyond the Narrow Sea and even about what the beloved North will be like. 12r10

But calm down: that doesn't mean you'll have to stay with a Game of Thrones-shaped chest void forever. This post is exactly to help you move forward before you feel like rewatching all eight seasons.

This selection contains other HBO series, which used super production to ensure that the series is a success, as well as other series that have the same scheme of mixing fantasy with current elements, mixing history and fantasy, and with ingenious and ionate characters that we love to hate

Before we talk about the series…. 3r3f2z

Game of Thrones it's not over at once. After all, there are still George RR Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire books on which the HBO series was based. This means that the ending we got to the series is not necessarily the ending the creator intended to end the saga. Not to mention that in the books there are more characters, more plots and all the dragons are still alive.

After all, the series had to be wrapped up in six episodes. In the books, Game of Thrones will have two more, with more than 3000 pages according to Martin. Although he's still working on the sixth and hasn't even started the seventh, he assured that A Song of Ice and Fire will have seven volumes to finish the trajectories of Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow, Arya, Sansa and all the other characters.

Series for the orphans of Game of Thrones 5r3x6w

But since George RR Martin still has (a lot of) time to release the new books, we have a lot (soooooooooooo) time to occupy before we can re-enter the Westeros universe – at least, until the first spin-off is released, there. in 2021. according to speculation.

So, check out this list of 10 series that will help you overcome the grief caused by the end of Game of Thrones:

Vikings 631j54

Have you ever watched Vikings? The series enters the list of Game of Thrones fan favorites. It has five seasons so far and tells the story of Viking warriors who dabble in magic, Viking rituals and many, many epic battles. The sixth season of Vikings is set to premiere later this year.

Westworld 4f285s

Now, we enter the list of acclaimed series made with the HBO super team. Westworld is kind of Black Mirror, approaching a not too distant technological future and using some objects and trends that will be part of our future, such as artificial consciousness, for example (who knows?).

The difference is that the series, unlike Black Mirror, maintains a narrative of one story across episodes rather than multiple different stories told in each episode of the season. Westworld is an amusement park that allows visitors to live out their fantasies using artificial consciousness. The idea is that there is no consequence, no matter how far you want to go in your dream.

The series already has two seasons and the third will premiere in 2020 on HBO.

His Dark Materials does not yet have an official release date, but HBO has assured that it is soon.

The Tudors 2e6co

Unlike the other series on this list, The Tudors is already finished. The four-season series is based on the story of King Henry VIII of England. The first deals with his reign from 1518 to 1530, a period in which he has to deal with international conflicts, the scheming of his own court and the pressure to become an heir.

During the episodes, the young king also has to deal with the crown's relationship with the Catholic Church, English customs and how his quest to get an heir will result in death, war and dangerous articulations within the court.

The Borgias 1c4b45

The Handmaid's Tale 722413

One of the best series today, The Handmaid's Tale can enter your list of series, especially now that the third season is about to premiere. The series on the streaming service Hulu is based on the books by Margaret Atwood and tells the story of a conservative wave so strong that it turns the United States into a retrograde and sexist country.

In this world, birth rates are plummeting at an alarming rate. Therefore, the men in power, who use the Bible to base their actions, decide to gather all fertile women and turn them into handmaids. Every lord, i.e. rich and powerful man, uses a handmaiden to reproduce. As soon as he gets a child, that handmaid is transferred to another house. And it all involves a frightening ritual: the wife of this gentleman, called the Commander, has to hold the handmaiden while her husband rapes her once a month until she becomes pregnant.

The world created in The Handmaid's Tale is hair-raising and you definitely need to watch it. check out 10 reasons to convince you, but if you've already decided to watch it, start today because this series needs you to take a breath before marathoning all the episodes at once.

The Witcher 501l38

The Witcher hasn't debuted yet, but the series will be based on the game series of the same name and the books that started it all: Wied?min, by writer Andrzej Sapkowski. Starring Henry Cavill, the series was scheduled for 2020, but the producer confirmed on Twitter that the first season, which will consist of eight episodes, will be released later this year, although it does not yet have an official release date.

Watchmen 4k4c3l

Like The Witcher, the HBO series based on the Watchmen comics has yet to debut. But the alternate world in which superheroes are treated as villains that emerged in Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' comic books is being tackled in a new way in the new HBO series.

Announced in June 2017, the series aims not to be a remake of the movie that has already been made, but a new story set in the fantastic universe created by Alan Moore. In a open letter published on his Instagram in May 2018, the producer Damon Lindeloff stated that they intend to do something new with the characters from the original comic:

“The original twelve volumes are like our Old Testament. When the New Testament came, it didn't erase what came before. And so it will be with Watchmen. The Comedian died. Dan and Laurie fell in love. Ozymandias saved the world and Dr. Manhattan left him after blasting Rorschach in the freezing cold of Antarctica. To the point, Watchmen is canon. The story will be set in the world that its creators painstakingly built…. but in the tradition of the work that inspired it, the new story must be original.”

Bonus: Bloodmoon 225339

But calm down, Game of Thrones fans, we still have the spin-off series to look forward to. On George RR Martin's blog, the author talked about how he's been working on Game of Thrones spin-offs (he doesn't like the term "spin-off"). And one of them is already being recorded. Those who work on the set in Belfast, where filming is taking place, are calling the series Bloodmoon.

However, George RR Martin called this new series, which will address about 5000 years before the events of Game of Thrones, The Long Night. The name sounds familiar because it's the same name used to name the great Battle of Winterfell in the third episode of season eight, when our heroes fight the Night King and his army of the undead.

The first children in game of thrones.

Will the series then address the emergence of the Night King, his first attack, and his fight against the First Children. According to HBO, as reported by with the BBC, the series will show “the chronicles that took place after the Golden Age of Heroes and reaching into the darkest hour”.

The cast includes Naomi Watts, Miranda Richardson (who played Rita Skeeter in Harry Potter), John Simm (the Master in Doctor Who) and Georgie Henley (Lucia in The Chronicles of Narnia). According to the Hollywood Reporter, HBO executive producer Casey Bloys said that there is no premiere date yet, but that there is a great possibility that it will be in May 2020. That is, it is not even that long.
