K'un-Lun in Marvel Comics

if you've seen "Demolisher", "Jessica Jones" e “Luke Cage”, you may have noticed that the three series are very down to earth. I mean, apart from the fact that they are played by characters with superhuman abilities, we don't see any magical forces at work in those environments.

"Iron fist" will give us this introduction. At age 10, Danny survived the plane crash that killed his parents in the Himalayas. He was then raised by monks in a mystical city called K'un-Lun, Which is located in another dimension. For 15 years he trained kung fu until it reaches the maximum skill level and transforms into the Iron Fist. That's when he decided to return to New York.

It is worth ing that Marvel is also starting to touch on this mysticism in cinema. In "Doctor Strange", we saw all the training of the Stephen Strange, Played by Benedict Cumberbatch, in the ambition to become the Sorcerer Supreme. We can expect something similar, but with fewer features, in the new Netflix series.

2. We will get to know a different New York w3p1m

Forget him Harlem and Hell's kitchen. The new hero was the son of very successful businessmen, so he lives on the rich side of town. The darkness of the other characters' neighborhoods is set aside to show the glamor and corruption of New York's financial district.

This novelty, in itself, already changes the way Netflix's hero series have been conducted so far. And, of course, introduces us to new characters.

3. It's the last solo series before "The Defenders" 1y112g

Luke Cage, Matt Murdock, Jessica Jones and Danny Rand aka the Defenders

In the second half of this year, it debuts on Netflix “The Defenders”, a series that will unite the four heroes of streaming. Which means that “Iron Fist”, in order to introduce this new narrative, is full of easter eggs and references to the universe we already know. One example is the presence of Rosario Dawson, night nurse. Rand also has a common enemy to “Daredevil” early on in the plot, the Tentacle.

So if you want to understand everything about the series, “Iron Fist” is an interesting way to do it.
