Showmetech TRIO is a compilation of the most interesting news of the week. Today we are going to comment on the astronauts from Starliner, a Boeing capsule, who will be 'trapped' on the International Space Station until 2025, after an incident with the Boeing Starliner capsule. 113k2h

We will also talk about the confirmation of the big launch event for the iPhone 16 and all its variants. Additionally, there is space about a recent discovery by NASA, which located a giant object, 27 times larger than Earth, wandering in outer space. Check out all the information right now!

Starliner astronauts have problems y6df

The astronauts Suni Williams e Butch Wilmore had problems participating in a Boeing test mission. The Starliner capsule, which arrived at the International Space Station on June 6, had problems, and now they will have to wait 9 months to return to Earth. The initial forecast is that they would stay on the ISS for just over a week.

This occurred because the capsule suffered setbacks with helium leaks and thrusters that abruptly stopped working in the initial stage of its first manned test flight. 5 of the 28 reaction control thrusters Starliner stopped working – all but one were eventually recovered.

Boeing engineers spent weeks testing possibilities to find out whether it would be safe and viable for the two astronauts to return to Earth, in the damaged capsule, but it was decided that this would only happen in February.

Despite the great expectation that another company would carry out the work of taking astronauts to the ISS, SpaceX is still the only one that has been successful in this type of task. The rocket Crew Dragon, of the mission crew-9, will be responsible for bringing the two Boeing astronauts.

Until then, they become full-time of the expedition team, working for NASA at the orbiting laboratory, performing scientific experiments, maintenance tasks and assisting in preparations for spacewalks — including a study on new ways to produce fiber optic cables and grow plants aboard the ISS.

When does the iPhone 16 arrive? 2g2i2l

Apple will launch new devices on September 9th (Photo: Disclosure)

As is tradition, the new iPhones will be launched in September during the Apple event. After much speculation, the company confirmed that the big event will take place at September 9th, starting at 14pm, Brasília time. It will be possible to follow the ments via Apple YouTube channel or via Apple TV. Just click on the player below at the correct day and time:

In addition to new iPhones 16, new MacBooks with M4 processors could be presented to the world for the first time. There should also be room for new generations of Apple Watch and AirPods.

Among the new features, the new iPhones 16 are expected to have larger screens, with the iPhone 16 Pro having a 6,3-inch display and the iPhone 16 Pro Max arriving with a 6,9-inch screen.

The releases are rumored to come with an extra button or capture button, as it has been called. It will allow you to activate the camera and start recording audio, for example. Some say that the button will take the place of the mute button and will be above the volume buttons.

In of cameras, new features are also expected: according to the MacRumors website, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will have two external cameras aligned vertically with two lenses: one Wide and one Ultrawide. The microphone will be located close to the lenses and the flash right next to it.

The Pro and Pro Max models are expected to feature 48 megapixel sensors and 5x optical zoom, but it is not yet known how many lenses they will have. Stronger rumors cite that a telephoto lens should make its debut on the Pro variant, something that was only seen on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, in 2023.

Software innovations shown at WWDC 2024 will also make their debut on the iPhone 16 line. Siri, which will be smarter due to the platform Apple Intelligence, you will now have the ability to generate images, write emails, organize the gallery and more. We talk more about what to expect from new iPhone 16 in a complete article – be sure to check it out.

Giant object detected by NASA 371f1c

Object is not considered a celestial body by NASA (Photo: Reproduction/NDTV)

Finally, let's talk about the object detected by the NASA, which is 27 times the size of Earth but is moving away from the Milky Way. It was discovered by independent astronomers, ed by the project Backyard Worlds: Planet 9, from NASA. The project uses data from the mission WISE, from NASA, which mapped the sky in infrared light from 2009 to 2011. Citizen scientists spotted a faint, fast-moving object in the images.

Despite its unusual size, the American space agency does not classify it as a celestial body and, in fact, scientists are considering the object as a possible brown dwarf.

Brown dwarfs, according to NASA, are objects that are between the size of a giant planet, like Jupiter, and that of a small star and that do not have enough mass to fuse hydrogen. The agency explained that more than 4 common brown dwarfs have already been discovered, but none had previously shown movement out of the galaxy.

The object, dubbed CWISE J1249, It will leave the Milky Way's gravity and wander through intergalactic space, as it has an average speed of 1,6 million kilometers per hour. Preliminary data shows the object has low mass and much less iron and other metals than other stars and brown dwarfs, suggesting it is very old but has only just been discovered.

There are two NASA theories that try to explain the object's movement at such a high speed. One is that it originally came from a binary system, being trapped in orbit around a white dwarf, or the remaining core of an exploded star. The impact of this supposed supernova would have enough force to propel the object at the speed it currently finds itself at.

The other is that the object could have been part of a cluster of stars that encountered a pair of black holes. This supposed interaction violently expelled the object from its system, sending it wandering around the galaxy.
