Today's event s four other deaths recorded around the world. This was the first death announced outside countries outside the Africa, since on the last day of July 20, 2022, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, director general of OMS (World Health Organization), confirmed that only four deaths in African countries had occurred. The name or age of the Brazilian who died today is not yet known.

According to official website information Our World In Data, our country was the sixth in the world with the most confirmed cases of the disease that began to worry the world since May. 1.066 cases were recorded in Brazil and most are concentrated in São Paulo. This is the list of monkeypox infected by each state:
- São Paulo: 823;
- Rio de Janeiro: 124;
- Minas Gerais: 44;
- Paraná: 21;
- Federal District: 15;
- Goiás: 13;
- Bahia: 5;
- Ceará: 4;
- Santa Catarina: 4;
- Rio Grande do Sul: 4;
- Pernambuco: 3;
- Rio Grande do Norte: 2;
- Espírito Santo: 2;
- Tocantins: 1;
- Acre: 1.
O Ministry of Health confirms that there are 3 infected children in São Paulo, among all those infected by the disease. Worldwide, more than 21 cases of monkeypox have been reported in more than 60 countries. As a way to prevent the problem from spreading the chance of having a new pandemic, the OMS decided that the Monkeypox is a global emergency.

With the growth of cases of the disease that is still somewhat unknown by scientists, the Ministry of Health of Brazil announced that a special folder will be set up to decide actions to prevent an increase in contagion and especially more deaths. These are the convened bodies:
- conass (National Council of Health Secretaries);
- Conasems (National Council of Municipal Health Departments);
- Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency);
- Belt (WHO representative in the Americas).
There is still no vaccine of its own to treat monkeypox, but studies have revealed that smallpox immunizer (human) given within four days of suspected infection can add about 85% protection against the disease.
Treatment has been done with antibiotics and one of the most basic ways to protect yourself is to keep personal hygiene up to date, such as washing your hands, avoid with wild animals ou patients, as well as avoiding with people who are possibly showing symptoms of the disease. Safe sexual behavior can also prevent contagion. In addition to skin lesions, symptoms include:
- intense asthenia (weakness);
- Fever;
- chill;
- headache;
- Headache;
- back pain;
- exhaustion;
- lymph node enlargement;
- Backache;
- Myalgia.
