The study commissioned by Lenovo and carried out by IDC shows that 95% of IT leaders already invest or plan to invest in Generative AI and 58% believe that AI will have a significant impact in the areas of cybersecurity, threat detection and process automation and efficiency, as well as personalization and customer experience .
The IDC survey was carried out with around 500 CIOs (chief information officers) and IT and business decision makers from organizations located in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.
Acting as one of the greatest innovations in the technology market in the last five years, chief information technology officers (CIOs) They are open to learning and implementing technologies such as generative AI in their processes, with a focus on increasing productivity in an integrated way. With so much information being generated and processed in era of artificial intelligence, leaders want to not only leverage this but also protect data and place data management, analytics and cybersecurity as top priorities to areas of the business related to the customer journey and decision making, as they are those most impacted by AI. This process has been mostly carried out by banks, retail, government and healthcare.
But one point also shows that AI infrastructure investments are aimed at cyber security, even more so in cases where there are financial transactions on an ongoing basis.
When we talk about prioritization of telcos, they are focused on implementing digital technologies like AI into robust infrastructures to provide high-quality network services, infrastructure observability and connectivity as this aligns with their core business. However, only 24% see data and a better customer journey using AI as priorities.
Research carried out by IDC shows that companies will complete the digitalization process and start offering safe options for their customers, all with the of artificial intelligence.
