A survey commissioned by Qualcomm ao IBOPE, with the objective of identifying the size of the Brazilian smartphone market, the profile of s and characteristics of the segment, presented interesting data on the habits and intentions of consumers.
Conducted in 2014, the survey comprises 2002 interviews in three different sections: men and women; 16 years or older; Education Level; economic class A, B, C, D and E; all regions (North, Midwest, Northeast, Southeast and South).

According to her, Brazilian consumers paid around R$900,00 on average when buying a new smartphone in 2014. The value is 14% higher than the one ed in the previous year, which corresponded to R$700,00 average.
The study found that 19% of the Brazilian population has a smartphone that uses one of the main operating systems available today (iOS, Android e Windows Phone). In addition, 7% of people own smartphones with other operating systems (such as Blackberry, Bada, Etc.).
Among the reasons given by respondents for having or buying a smartphone, the need to stay connected all the time appears as a justification for 67% of people. The convenience of doing several things at the same time is mentioned by 50% of respondents and the use of a cell phone to access social networks such as Facebook is mentioned by 30% of respondents.

The research also pointed out that there is great resistance on the part of Brazilians in pay for apps. The survey showed that 73% of s would never pay for one, and an even higher percentage, 83%, would never pay for a service application. Those who pay do so through credit cards.
As far as free apps are concerned, most s are still looking for s related to fun and entertainment. Of those surveyed, 4 out of 10 mentioned having all the apps they need.
Fun/entertainment is now the top reason to apps. Necessity comes second.
3G/4G connection: o704a
Another interesting data concerns adherence to the 3G high speed networks e 4G / LTE. When it comes to connectivity, 100% of Brazilians with smartphones have internet access. Of this total, 80% have some sort of data service based on 3G / 4G.
The remaining 20% say they use this type of service casually and when they need to access the internet via smartphones, they do so through Wi-Fi networks.
