Bad news for those who use prepaid internet plans on smartphones. Operators OI, Claro, Vivo and Tim started to do the cut in data service for those who use the entire franchise before the end of the month. Until now, operators offered the option to browse with reduced speed for anyone who crosses the threshold. 2s208

As more and more people prefer to use the internet instead of calls and SMS, operators want to increase profitability in this segment. Officially, operators claim that the model of speed reduction after packet consumption can create a negative perception of the services.

Oi

Since the day December 09th, those who use Oi's prepaid and control plans already have their internet service cut off at the end of the franchise.

To restore access to the web, you will need to buy more credits (in the pre-plan) or purchase an additional package.

According to Oi, “the end of reduced speed, combined with the new model of charging for additional packages, is a worldwide trend to ensure a better browsing experience”.

Clear

For those who use Claro's chip, the end of the speed reduction will start from the next day 28.

Claro bets on greater customer satisfaction, who will be able to enjoy a high-speed network, without variations in service.

Living

From day December 30th, Vivo will extend the same strategy that has already been implemented to Rio Grande do Sul and Minas Gerais.

Operator s in the states of Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima and Tocantins, in addition to the Federal District, will also have the service interrupted after the end of the franchise.

The company will send an SMS when consumption reaches 80% of the franchise and another when it ends, with the option of contracting an additional package.

Team

The last operator to implement the end of reduced speed will be Tim. From January 15,, the connection will be interrupted at the limit of the daily allowance for Infinity Web 10, Web 30, Web 100, Web 10+Torpedo, Web30+Torpedo and Turbo 7 plans.

Implementation begins in the states of Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Sul and São Paulo (in the area of DDD 19, in the interior).

The Infinity Pré, Infinity Controle, Liberty Controle and Liberty Controle Express plans will also be affected.

Tim informs that “changes in the format of mobile data billing are a natural movement, in line with the continuous growth of internet use on cell phones and other devices”.

Are you satisfied with your carrier's internet service? Do you think the end of reduced speed is fair? Leave your comment!
