Virtual assistants have won the hearts of the Brazilian public for a while and are now part of the routine of many of us. with the kit WiZ Connected Home you'll have a few more smart accessories to add to your environment. The Kit evaluated here brought a LED tape with RGB functions, a Motion sensor WiZ, to help automate your smart lights and finally WiZmote, a remote control for you to configure and control your lights without having to access the app. Check out our full kit review WiZ Connected Home! 4x5t

The three accessories that came in the kit brought with them a simple and beautiful design. THE WiZ LED strip it came rolled up and besides it brings only the power cord that has an on/off button. The white color on the tape and the WiZ motion sensor is very pretty and works like something that should be “hidden”.

Already WiZmote it came in black, but it also took the same care as the other two in that sense. It is very reminiscent of the Amazon remote, Fire TV Stick, even, so if you already have one of these at home, chances are you can mix the two.

Coming back to the LED strip, it is 2 meters long and comes with an adhesive strip ready to be installed, just take it off and stick it in the desired location. The LED strip still has some markings in specific places for you to cut the desired size.

In the case of WiZ Motion Sensor, it can be placed on your desk or anywhere else, including on the wall through a simple hole in the wall. In the box, we even have the screw and plug to install it on the wall. For its operation, you will need to open the sensor with a screwdriver, insert the batteries and that's it.

Installation and Functions 6ao2x

The icing on the cake of the WiZ Kit is certainly the LED tape and it matches any expectation, after all it brings a variation of 16 million colors and warm or cold light options. I it that in many ways it reminded me of the famous Christmas tree lights, but in a positive way.

The LED strip is a great accessory for any setup. (Image: Tiago Rodrigues/Showmetech)

All I had to do was connect the LED strip to the power cable that came in the box and presto, it was working. Despite having a button included, its most interesting functions are in the app WiZ Connections and in it, I had some problems, which I will go into details later.

O WiZmote It was also very simple to connect, requiring only you to open the back and insert the batteries, like any other remote control. Only WiZ Motion Sensor which requires a little more work, but still nothing too difficult.

Although it only needs batteries to work, you do need a star screwdriver to open its case and insert the batteries. As I said, it's not difficult at all, but it's for safety, since it can be connected to walls and other places.

Through the WiZ Connections app, you can configure every detail of your LED Strip (Image: Tiago Rodrigues/Showmetech)

A LED tape it is already prepared for you to install it wherever you want. In my case, I just put it on my desk, but it comes with a “pre-installed” sticky tape for you to put on the TV or even on the back of the desk. in the app WiZ Connections, you can configure the colors you want to use on the LED Strip and also define which will be the 4 presets for the buttons on the WiZmote, which makes it a lot easier, removing the need to always use the smartphone for everything.

Despite the problems I had in the tests, when it worked, the Sensor is very interesting (Image: Tiago Rodrigues/Showmetech)

O Motion sensor does what it should do. When he senses someone's presence, he flashes a blue light and the LED strip lights up. The problem I had here, however, is that it only worked when I wanted to. When I installed it, everything was perfect, but then he decided that sometimes he would feel the presence of people and sometimes not.

One night the sensor worked flawlessly and after 5 minutes the LEDs would turn off by themselves and the next morning the lights were on because the sensor decided it no longer recognizes the motion nor the lack of it.

I did several tests, including unplugging the LEDs from the socket, taking the batteries out of the Sensor and even resetting everything. In the end, in my experience, all three devices are pretty good, except for the problem with the motion sensor which worked super random.

Integration 6w301r

Smart devices have dominated the market and this is no different. All three devices are configured through the app WiZ Connections. The configuration itself is very simple, but I missed a more elaborate “step by step” in the box of the devices.

A LED tape, for example, it wasn't in pairing mode automatically as soon as I plugged it in, requiring me to turn it off and on 3 times quickly for that to happen. In the case of the WiZmote and the WiZ Motion Sensor, to pair them, you need at least one smart light to be configured in the app. After that, go to “+” of the app and find the options “motion sensor"and "WiZmote".

WiZmote is very useful and works even when you are without Wi-FI (Image: Tiago Rodrigues/Showmetech)

Pairing the two is quite simple. In the case of the control, you just need to press the “ON” 3 times while the app searches for it. As for the sensor, you just need to press its single button for the blue light to turn on and wait.

The app WiZ Connections allows you to be connected to the main Smart Home apps such as Google Assistant, Alexa e SmartThings, from Samsung. I tested it in Google Assistant and, well, it worked fine the first few times until the LED Strip stopped responding in the app.

Still about WiZ Connections, we have some interesting functions there. In addition to being able to configure all the devices and their functions, we have some bonuses regarding the lamps and LED strips. Among the functions, two of them are very interesting.

The LED strip in shades of red is also amazing (Image: Tiago Rodrigues/Showmetech)

The first is called "scenes” and with it you save several lighting patterns and can save with different names, making it easier to access this pattern for the “movie time", gives "yoga” or anything else you want to save.

The other function is called “rhythms” and in it you can automate your lights in a simple and very interesting way. You create a “new rhythm” and there you add new colors and tones at the time you deem necessary. The only thing I missed was being able to choose the days that each rhythm will work, requiring that if you want to change the defaults, you always have to enter the app to do so.

The ironic thing is that there is a function called "schedules” which goes against the other two mentioned, but without being able to merge their functions, which is a shame and shows that WiZ has a lot to work on in its app.

Conclusion 60664y

O Wiz Connected Home Kit brings together good accessories that can be a great gateway to this world of smart accessories. The LED strip (R$409,99 on Amazon) delivers a more than satisfactory result, especially if your goal is to decorate your work desk or leisure room, allowing for a wide variety of colors and customization.

With the help of wizmote (R$139,99 on Amazon), taking advantage of your LED Strip is even easier, allowing anyone in the house to control the LEDs. The only thing that made the experience less interesting than it should have been were these little problems with the motion sensor (R$219,99 on Amazon). And as it was something very specific with my test, I can say without a doubt that the device is good and unless you are as unlucky as I am, it will be well worth it.
