The highlight is the arrival of RDNA 2 on the Ryzen 6000, leaving the integrated GPUs with the potential to run AAAs in Full HD

After announcing the Ryzen 6000 during a conference at CES 2022, AMD revealed more details about the new generation of processors that will soon equip its notebooks. The great highlights are the lithograph in just 6 nanometers and the arrival of architecture It was 3+, which promises good results for notebooks. j3a5l

At the center of it all is the famous architecture Zen. Highly praised and already considered one of the best on the market, whether for desktops or notebooks, the new AMD gets along with Zen3+. According to the company, the arrival of technology allows important innovations, such as a design capable of making Ryzen 6000 reach higher and more stable frequencies, reaching up to 5.0 Ghz with Max Turbo.

This time AMD decided to work with a 6 nm (nanometer) lithography fabrication, which in addition to helping the chips connectivity technologies, for example, adds five layers of features:

  • The optimized lithography itself;
  • Zen 3+ is now improved to have a greater energy balance;
  • “Reorganization” of the SoC and better use of the Infinity Fabric;
  • Firmware with smarter algorithm to work with different usage profiles (silent, balanced usage, performance);
  • Improvements regarding the external image on monitors, such as error correction, application of FreeSync and buffering.

With the Zen 3+ architecture, AMD will be able to explore new possibilities that previously only Intel had mastered. Ryzen 6000 will have compatibility with memory modules DDR5/LPDDR5, Bluetooth 5.2, connection WiFi 6E, PCI Express 4.0, and real-time noise cancellation for video and online meetings.

A key focus of the launch for the company is the ability of the new processors to — in theory — perform better without consuming as much power. The idea is to have three main lines of processors, ranging from 15 W to 45 W: thinner notebooks for transport; fine enthusiasts and ultra enthusiasts, respectively.

Before getting into the details of each line specifically, AMD points out that battery life has increased significantly. Processors are designed to work with Video playback for up to 24 hours. This had already been commented on at CES, and although the company has said that not all processors will have this efficiency, the information is still very pleasing to know that for certain activities we will be able to dispense with the use of outlets for a while.

Processors with an efficiency of 15 W are designed to have a battery similar to the 28 W. In reality, these two scenarios are the ones that should consume less power or heat up. Over the years both Intel and AMD have been perfecting their techniques to create thinner notebooks with good autonomy and performance.

RDNA2 3t2137

On the GPU side, finally the series Ryzen 6000 will bring news to the integrated video. We will bid farewell to VEGA and celebrate the arrival of RDNA2, which guarantees more performance and better energy efficiency in the projects in which it is present. In addition to promises, 2nd generation RDNA is very well regarded in the PC and video game world by critics and audiences. Microarchitecture equips consoles PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X e S, in addition to AMD's dedicated graphics cards: Radeon RX 6000.

Among the highlights, we will have frequencies around 300 MHz higher, with a clock reaching 2.5 GHz on high-end models. It is expected that the stability of the system will get better and better thanks to the addition of memories RAM DDR5. The fact that they have higher frequencies and faster communication channels with the processor should allow for fewer bottlenecks when gaming, for example.

AMD's intention here is clear: to bring the power of dedicated graphics cards to the segment. According to the company, "integrated graphics have never been so powerful to run AAA games in Full HD." Although it seems like a maxim beyond reality, the RDNA 2 proves to be very efficient in performance, so it is really possible that this is an important step.

In fact, the integrated cards would be so beefy that in some cases they would dispense with a dedicated video card. However, it is expected that only the most powerful processor models will accompany graphics chips with such performance.

The AMD Ryzen 6000 ng6j

It's finally time to get to know these long-awaited processors better. The complete portfolio that AMD is presenting for 2022 starts from the most basic, the Ryzen 5 6600U, until reaching the “heavyweight” of the competition: the Ryzen 9 6980HX.

In comparisons with models from Intel such as Core i7-1165G7 with integrated graphics intel iris xe, Ryzen 7 6800U achieves almost twice the performance in most games next to the Radeon 680M. On the other hand, in an AMD vs AMD duel, the Ryzen 6900HS with one Radeon 6800S figure between 9 to 11% more performance than its predecessor, the Ryzen 9 5900HX with one GeForce RTX 3080.

When we talk about productivity and multitasking, processors Ryzen 6000U 15W have up to 17% more performance when compared to Ryzen 5000U, also 15W. Already the most powerful U versions with 28W increases the graphics to a speed of up to 37%.

In games, thanks to the architecture based on RDNA 2, the Ryzen 6000 can double the performance level compared to the previous generation Ryzen 5000. Some information still indicates that the most high-end cards in the segment are on an equal footing with the GTX 1650 aimed at notebooks, indicating AAA gaming gameplay in Full HD in low and/or medium quality.

Os Ryzen 6000 start to populate the market in February with the HS line, while the U and HX segments arrive only in March. Among the manufacturers that are working with the processors we can speak of the traditional ASUS, Razer, Lenovo, Dell Acer, HP and Microsoft. Now, just wait for the releases to bring our reviews to you, the reader.

So, what do you think of these processors? Take advantage and check out everything AMD announced at CES 2022, from the new desktop Us to its new entry-level GPU.
