Killer Robot Diaries (Season 1) (16/05) 273o4r
Original title: Murderbot
Big news for the month of May at Apple TV +, the science fiction series Diaries of a Killer Robot (Murderbot) tells the irreverent story of a rebellious security android, played by actor and executive producer Alexander Skarsgard (Succession, The Legend of Tarzan), who decides to search for meaning in life on his own. However, he doesn't know that he will live quite an adventure, instead of just binge-watching futuristic soap operas alone (his biggest hobby) to try to understand his purpose in the world.
The plot, which has touches of comedy, takes place in a technological future, revealing presumed aspects of what would happen if a robot acquired free will. Murderbot — the android robot that gives the series its name in the original version — finds himself involved in feelings, terrifying human emotions and attracted to those who protect him. At the same time, he finds himself on a mission to protect scientists on a dangerous planet, having to, this time, hide part of his autonomous and reasoning capabilities so as not to be noticed.
The series is based on the book collection The Murderbot Diaries, by the American writer Martha Wells (Witch king, City of Bones), who also acts as a consulting producer, and is responsible for creation and direction Chris Weitz (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, a big boy) to Paul weitz (American Pie: The First Time is Unforgettable, Getting Even Colder with the Family).

Deaf President Now! (16/05) 52105c

Deaf President Now! narrates the events that lasted eight days of protests and demonstrations during one of the largest civil rights movements ever. The scene of the event in 1988, Gallaudet University, located in Washington, DC (USA) and aimed primarily at the deaf, hosted the events of great revolt by the population after a non-deaf candidate was elected as president by the board of directors, to the detriment of several qualified deaf candidates.
The event — which ended up causing the chosen president to resign from his position and for it to be filled by the rector Dr. I. King Jordan — was consolidated as a milestone in history and ended up having an impact even outside the university, paving the way for the approval of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA, or Americans with Disabilities Act, in translation).

Another feature of this documentary film, whose predominant language is American Sign Language (ASL), is the inclusion of techniques such as Visual Noise e Deaf Point of View (deaf point of view, in translation) — assured by the consultants Jonaz McMillan e Lindsey Dryden —, which uses photos and audio technologies to immerse the viewer in an experience of deafness.
