Closed due to the new coronavirus COVID-19, the Museum of Astronomy and Related Sciences released two free virtual visits and activity for the little ones

In a time of pandemic due to the new COVID-19 coronavirus, technology proves to be even more ally of society. With museums and other public spaces closed, virtual tours have been an alternative for everyone. recently the Museum of Astronomy and Allied Sciences (MAST) do Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications, released online visits to exhibitions for all Brazilians.  5q3m3e

In a playful way, visitors will be able to access information, curiosities and other activities of the Astronomy Museum. In addition to the visit, they provided material for the children to play with during the quarantine at home. Check out below how to take advantage of virtual activities.

Museum of Astronomy and Allied Sciences in Rio de Janeiro

Visitors can discover the Museum of Astronomy and Allied Sciences without leaving home. The 360º tour of the campus of MAST and also the National Observatory, which belongs to Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications. In Portuguese and English, it is possible to find seven menus with the history of the campus, general information, an audio guide, among others. 

Altogether there are 19 online visitation points. Among them are: the photolithographer's pavilion, the Henrique Morize library, the Linea headquarters and the meteorological tower. Access here the visit to MAST e National Observatory.

In MAST's 'Man on the Moon', s can visualize space in a very interactive way

s accessing the exhibition man on the moon will have the opportunity to visit the space in Virtual Reality and enter an immersion on the lunar surface, finding texts, images and explanatory videos. It will also be possible to find answers to: “why is space dark?”, understand the trajectory between the Earth and the Moon, and even have a view of the far side of the Moon.

For children at home, the Astronomy Museum made available a collection of dolls made of paper. The templates were made available on the museum's website and you can and print them for kids.
