Without disclosing the name of the buyer, BlackBerry announces order for one million devices with the new mobile operating system BlackBerry 10. With delivery scheduled from April, this is the largest single purchase in the company's history.
The Canadian manufacturer has launched its new devices Blackberry Z10 e Blackberry Q10 on the 30th of January. The devices arrive on the North American market later this month and in Brazil probably in April, although there is still no official confirmation.
Blackberry is fighting to win back the market, and the new Blackberry 10 platform is the Canadian company's big bet. For Rick Costanzo, Executive Vice President of Global Sales, this purchase represents “a huge vote of confidence in the platform”.
