Firstly, you need to identify why the battery performance has decreased: is it the Android system calibration or the battery itself? Later we will cover the topic of calibration, but first you should check if the battery is damaged.

If your phone has a removable battery cover, turn it off, remove the cover and inspect the battery. Look for bulges or leaks. The image below shows a battery that is completely swollen and ended up forcing the smartphone's back cover open. If this is your case, look for a specialized technical assistance, because it's time to change your cell phone battery.

It is not necessary to be an expert to assess the condition of the battery, just observe any irregularities in the shape of the battery.

The operating system Android has a feature called Battery Stats, or battery status, which keeps track of battery capacity when it is full or empty. The problem is that sometimes it gets corrupted and starts displaying data that is not real, which for example causes the phone to turn off even before it reaches 0%. Calibrating the Android battery simply means having the operating system correct this information to reflect actual battery levels once again.

It's important to understand that you can't actually calibrate the battery itself. The battery is just a cell that stores energy and discharges over time. However, batteries lithium ion include a printed circuit board (PCB), which serves as a protection switch to prevent them from exploding or unloading overnight.

Most Android smartphones and tablets have a specific settings screen to check your battery status.

Lithium-ion batteries don't have memory, so there's not much you can do to keep them working as they should. The problem lies with how the Android system reads and displays the current battery capacity, not the battery itself. When we talk about battery calibration, it's the percentage meter that goes wrong and that's what we need to fix.

If you don't have access root () to the Android system on your smartphone or tablet, there are two very simple methods you can use to calibrate your device's battery.

Method 1 5v1c44

  • Fully discharge the phone until it turns itself off.
  • Connect your phone to a charger and, without turning it on, let it charge until the screen or LED indicator reads 100%.
  • Turn off the charger.
  • Turn on your phone. It is likely that the battery indicator will not indicate 100%, so reconnect the charger (with the phone on) and continue charging until it indicates 100% on the screen as well.
  • Disconnect your phone and restart it. If it doesn't show 100%, plug the charger back in until it shows 100% on the screen.
  • Repeat this cycle until it is at 100% (or as close as possible) when you start it without being plugged in.
  • Now let the battery drain to 0% and let the phone turn off again.
  • Fully charge the battery one more time without interruption and you should reset the Android system battery percentage.

that it is not recommended to perform this process regularly. Even when your battery is so drained that your phone won't even turn on, it still has enough reserve charge to prevent system damage. So run this process once every three months at most. If it's needed more often than that, you'll have bigger problems on your hands.

  • Fully discharge the phone until it turns itself off.
  • Turn it on and let it turn off again.
  • Connect your phone to a charger and, without turning it on, let it charge until the screen or LED indicator reads 100%.
  • Turn off the charger.
  • Turn on your phone. It is likely that the battery indicator will not indicate 100%, so reconnect the charger (leave the phone on) and continue charging until it indicates 100% on the screen as well.
  • Disconnect your phone and restart it. If it doesn't say 100%, plug the charger back in until it says 100% on the screen.
  • You want to repeat this cycle until it says 100% (or as close as you think it will get) when you start it without being connected.
  • Now install the app Battery Calibration and before starting it make sure the battery is 100% again and restart.
  • Immediately launch the app and recalibrate the battery.
  • After calibrating the battery, discharge it to 0% and let the phone turn off again.
  • Fully charge the battery one more time without interruption while it is off, and the Android system battery percentage will be reset.

  1. How can I let it unload? Does that mean I can't use it, I have to leave it there to unload by itself? I did not understand this part

  2. I need a tip, because when my Samsung Galaxy charges to 100% and when disconnected, it turns off when it reaches 88%, then I try to turn it on again, but it doesn't turn back on, so I reconnect it to the charger and then it turns back on and it goes up to 100% and it only works like that. I've already tried using the code *#0228#, *#9900#, but it doesn't change anything, what should I do to reset the battery and recharge it to 100% by recalibrating it? Please, [email protected]
