Great news for consumers: yesterday (08) the General Regulation on Consumer Rights in Telecommunications Services (RGC). And its main novelty is the forecast of canceling services WITHOUT the need to speak to an attendant.

That's right, you can celebrate! According to RGC, providers must now provide electronic channels (telephone, internet, etc.) that allow their consumers to make requests for immediate cancellation of the service.

The company will have period of 2 days to effect the cancellation, however your request must be ed immediately, without the need to talk to several attendants who do everything to beat you to the fatigue.

On the other hand, many people are used to simulating a cancellation to try to pressure companies for a reduction in the price of the service. This should continue to be possible, as the channel to talk to an attendant will continue to be live. However, with the possibility of this simple and automatic cancellation, we expect companies to try to improve the service more and more every day, with the risk of losing a good slice of customers who can decide to cancel the service at any time and now more easily.

Below we list the main news of the RGC:

  • Companies will be required to return your call if it drops during a call;
  • Postpaid s should be more detailed, aiming at greater transparency for s;
  • Packages and service plans must be included on the websites since many customers complained that the same package was sold at different prices without justification;
  • Maximum loyalty allowed of 12 months;
  • Old customers will be able to the new promotions.
