Castlevania: Nocturne, the fifth part of the Netflix hit 21104w

After the success of the first six episodes, the animation with a strong influence of anime ended up receiving three more seasons. Now, the series will have its fifth and final part, under the name of Castlevania: Night, which premieres on September 28th.

Um official teaser was announced today by Netflix, showing more details of the story that will be told.

At first, the first two seasons of Castlevania adapted the initial phase of the franchise to an animated series, with the story of the Nintendinho games until the events of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse

In them, Trevor Belmont s forces with Dracula's half-vampire, half-human son, Alucard, and the mage Sypha in defending the nation of Wallachia (now part of Romania) against the forces of evil.

The next two parts of the series took their own course, working as a kind of sequel to the events of the games, painting a more detailed background for the story of the characters from the previous two seasons, mainly Alucard, giving him more to do besides going against his father's plans.

Everything indicates that nocturne, the fifth season of the series, will be based on the arc of the classic games Castlevania: Rondo of Blood e Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, with Richter Belmont, descendant of Trevor and Sypha, in the lead role.

The plot will take place in , in the 1700s, in the middle of the French Revolution, where a powerful vampire named Messiah threatens to “devour the sun” and strike terror on earth, enslaving humanity with his army of creatures of the night.

Fearing such danger, Annette, a sorceress from the Caribbean, sets out to find Richter, the last of the legendary line of vampire hunters, the Belmont, to be at the forefront of human resistance against Messiah.

As for Symphony of the Night, it goes without saying, so many were influenced by it that there is a special game genre of its own just because of this Konami masterpiece. (Video: World of Longplays)

A bit about Castlevania 6ki5n

The franchise Castlevania has been dormant for decades, after almost 20 years of non-stop releases by production company Konami. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is considered the masterpiece of the franchise, and was the result of Japanese developer Koji Igarashi and his team. Launched in 1997 for the PlayStation and Saturn, it stars Dracula's son, Alucard, who rebels against his father and sets out on an adventure to end his reign of terror.

Symphony of the Night was a direct sequel to Rondo of Blood, game of PC engine (system known by the name of TurboGrafx outside Japan) and was one of the few installments in the series not to receive a Western release. That was until it was included on a compilation released for the Playstation Portable (PSP) many years later.

The events of the two titles are so close that at the beginning of the game starring Alucard, we play the electrifying ending of the previous adventure, in which Richter fights the vampire. This one-on-one yielded some of the most recognizable and imitated dialogue in video games, thanks to the extremely corny performances by the voice actors, not to mention the script.

Even so, both games are gems of their respective generations, and to this day numerous releases make use of its innovative gameplay mechanics. The popularity of games that follow this formula was so great that a new genre emerged, with a name coined from Metroid e Castlevania, his two main influences: Metroidvania.

Igarashi himself, after leaving Konami and forming his own development studio, released a game indie that followed the paths of its creation, with Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Even Disney got in on the fun, with the Disney Illusion, which will be released tomorrow for Nintendo Switch

Konami itself continued, for a time, to produce games in the same mold as SOTN, especially on the dual-screen notebook, the Nintendo DS, until he put an end to the franchise with the excellent Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, in 2008. Since then, the Netflix series has been the only product to use the franchise in nearly a decade.
