Every year, CES opens registrations for companies, individuals or organizations to submit their newest products, guaranteeing a chance to show industry professionals what is latest in technological development. The winners, in addition to receiving a trophy, can use the logo given by the award on their products, as well as receiving recognition from the entire technology industry, boosting the product and the company itself.

Participation criteria 2n31z

  • The product sent needed to be available for evaluation since April of last year, in addition to also needing to be available until at least April of the current year;
  • As with almost all existing competitions, it is necessary to submit a new product. In other words, technologies sent in past years and disqualified do not count as “new”, unless they have undergone considerable transformations and also the scrutiny of examiners;
  • If the product is the result of a marketing campaign, through crowdfunding, like those of Kickstarter, it needed to have as its release date the year between April of the previous year and the current year.
  • It is necessary to send two different images of the product, in .jpg and smaller than 10MB.

Rating criteria 5y3359

Professionals such as engineers, teachers, technology journalists and the like selected the technologies that stood out the most based on three fundamental aspects:

  • Engineering , where the evaluators analyzed the features of the product and how they relate to the end goal. In this part, companies or individuals could send details about the materials used, processes that were necessary in the creation, obstacles and other similar things;
  • Design, which also included the materials, the general appearance of the product, the ecological impact of everything that was used to assemble it, as it was d and, consequently, distributed, components and other aspects related to appearance;
  • Innovation, which, as the name suggests, forced participants to write about the transformative changes that the product could bring. It was necessary to enumerate up to 3 of them, almost in a mini biography or cover letter that you make in a cold sweat, afraid the boss will reject you without mercy.

After all this, the winners receive emails about the respective status of their technologies. It was possible to choose on the registration form whether the company wanted to be announced as a winner before or after, to be announced on the first day of the event. In addition, there were two categories: best innovation and honorees.

Great CES innovations in recent years 1w6x5y

Held for over 55 years, the great technology fair has been the stage for many innovations. Companies take advantage of the presence of journalists and the general public to give a first preview of products that will hit the market later that year or in the not-too-distant future.

Going back in time a little, the year 2010 was marked by the great boom in tablets at CES 2010. You can imagine that some simpler models were presented to those who were present, but it was at the technology fair that the first iPad from Apple was shown to the world. On that occasion, Steve Jobs took the stage to take a big step for the industry and, since then, the industry has never been the same. :

The year was 2012 and Apple's Macbooks, still with Intel processors, were starting to make noise in the technology industry. With an eye on this success, Windows notebook manufacturers began to launch products for the ultrabook industry: LG, HP, Dell and Lenovo began selling ultrathin notebooks that would be (and still are) successful for a long time.

Nowadays, it can be said that the Intel Evo platform It's a new standard for ultrabooks and we've already told you more about it in a special post, be sure to stay up to date on the subject.

Fast forward three years, the CES 2015 was greatly marked by the connected home revolution. With faster internet speeds, companies like Nest Cam and even Samsung, with its platform SmartThings began to demonstrate that investments in this market would be massive in the coming years.

A CES 2017 featured innovations for the reality market that, to this day, continues to evolve. It was in this year that we saw the first Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, as well as several company prototypes for entertainment and fun activities.

Something still in the future for a person, but which is a true reality, are foldable smartphones. Samsung launched its first Galaxy Z Flip in 2019, but it also made a point of taking it to CES 2020 so people could see everything up close for the first time.

That same year, Motorola presented the foldable RAZR and even TCL showed a prototype of a device like this, which to this day has not seen the light of the sun.

After that, the other editions of CES were marked by interesting news, such as:

These are just some of the innovations that have already marked past editions and of course the second week of 2024 will be marked by many new features that you can see right here, on showmetech. As was a trend throughout 2023, don't be surprised if companies invest a lot to implement artificial intelligence in their products and services (something that has been happening for months).
