The interview begins in a friendly tone, and almost comical at certain points. One of the first questions Hoffman asked his digital twin was actually a request to summarize his book “Blitzcalling” in a sentence, following some guidelines: one of the sentences should be simple enough for a 5-year-old child to understand. As explained by Reid himself, Chat GPT-4 contributed to the creation of his digital twin, attributing personality to the deepfake after studying countless materials from the real Reid over the last few decades. But he didn't do all the work alone.
The video avatar with Reid's appearance was generated by hour one, an Israeli start-up specialized in commercial solutions using deepfake, that is, creating believable avatars similar to real humans.
The voice of the digital twin was created by Eleven Labs, which converts text into audios in different languages. However, different from Google Translate, for example, is the tool's ability to incorporate human mannerisms into audios, incorporating dialects and phonetic biases pertinent to natural human speech.

For now, the use of digital twin is aimed at advertising actions, as was the case with the campaign carried out by Volkswagen with Elis Regina's digital twin.
