In the article, the researchers state that they conducted a study in Europe with 1,16 participants, all aged 44 – an age group that, at the time, presented milder symptoms of the disease variants mapped at the time. In 68% of Covid-19 cases in these people, the brand's device showed changes in metabolism, two days before the first symptoms of the infection.
The authors of the research say that from the data collected by the device, along with the application of machine learning algorithms to infer and process the information, in the future it will be possible to accurately infer the infection with the disease before symptoms manifest – in the present. At the moment, however, the theory must undergo further testing before it is confirmed as a sufficiently effective method to detect Covid-19.

According to the researchers, the signs that showed changes in the case of Covid-19 were heart rate, respiratory rate and pulse temperature - all characteristics already evaluated by the device to detect fertile periods in women. These changes were observed in the incubation, pre-symptomatic, symptomatic and recovery period of the disease responsible for the pandemic.

O gadgets AVA, through synchronization with the company's own monitoring application, also recorded any activity that could affect the results, such as the use of legal and illicit drugs and alcohol consumption, in addition to possible with other infected people.
