The first Shazam! was released there in 2019 and brought to theaters billy batson and the incredible family of superhero orphans. The film got it right by being a simple feature film about family and, of course, superheroes. Now in 2023, we have the launch of Shazam! Gods Fury and although the proposal is basically the same, everything works very well and we have a film full of energy and with a wonderful sense of humor. 1o5h2h
Ah, despite the fact that the film stands on its own very well and is not dependent on the previous one, there is one element or another about that in the story, so if you want to watch it — just go there on the HBO Max — to stay 100% up to date, your experience may become more interesting. I, for example, watched the first film when it was released and went with these memories to see this one. That said, let's get to the analysis and, of course, there may be some mini spoilers for the first movie.
History 6r4t5f

billy batson (Asher Angel / Zachary Levi) is still the Shazam there's been time with his brothers since the end of the first film. Currently, they try to be the superheroes of Philadelphia, but, in fact, they are just a joke over there, even called philadelphia fiascos.
Meanwhile, some ancient goddesses arrive on Earth in search of their powers which, according to them, has been stolen. This takes us on a great adventure with the Shazam, romance, some laughs and beautiful action scenes.
The perfect balance for everyone to enjoy at the cinema 5a5c3a

Shazam! Gods Fury it's a beautiful film with an afternoon session spirit and man, I say that as a mega compliment. The energy of the film is good, it's not tiring, the visuals are great and the Mago's acid humor, played by the amazing djimon house, is priceless.
Another really cool thing is the composition of the scenes. The director David F.Sandberg he seems to know very well what he's doing and manages to take advantage of the exaggeration that this universe provides to create incredible moments and scenes with things you can't even imagine.
But make no mistake, despite focusing a lot on being popcorn entertainment, the film manages to find space to work its main characters well and gives a much greater role to Freddy (Jack Dylan Grazer), having one of the main arcs of the film for himself.
This is also the case with the goddesses Hespera and Kalipso (Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu, respectively), the film's antagonists. They have a solid motivation, but their characters are much more mocking than evil and this becomes very functional as the film goes on.
Esthetic i2131

The film follows the same pattern we've known from DC for years in that regard. The armor and costumes are very nice and different from what we see in the competition, here we have suits in fact and not a military uniform with details that remind us of the comics in some way.
In of special effects, it was in one scene or another that I felt a slight discomfort for not showing much realism, but in things that really matter in the film and in the incredible dragon, eventually, everything is very beautiful and polished.
It's worth watching? 5k3bf

Having said all that, Shazam! Gods Fury it is certainly worth watching at the cinema, especially with the family. Making a little sting in another movie that would be about family from the lady Marvel Studios, I say that here is very different.
There are two hours of pure entertainment and it will be a great attraction, regardless of your age. As I've said before, there's romance, comedy, punching and kicking, and of course, there's a post-credits scene.
Yes, DC is also on this wave of scenes and without giving away spoilers, it is just a connection to the universe now commanded by James Gunn and I particularly liked it a lot. Before I forget, a new trailer for Flash in the session that managed to excite me a lot.
And that was my review of Shazam! Gods Fury. I hope you also have fun with the movie and if you have any questions or if you want to ask anything else, comment below.
