Something always fascinating to see him in the films of Marvel, is to try to guess what he is going to do in each situation, and most of the time, he surprises. They are only mentioned in the episode during the court of Loki, and we are told that they protect the Sacred Timeline. Until then, we believed that the multiverse simply…existed, but that's not quite the case.
This main timeline should be the only universe in existence, however, we are told that whenever someone manipulates space-time and acts “against” their pre-ordained destiny, a new bifurcation is created. So, the AVT works by investigating these bifurcations and neutralizing those who interfere with the flow of Sacred Timeline.
