This Tuesday, the 10th, the Xiaomi held an event to reveal more about its innovations. Among the highlights is the cyberdog, a robot dog very similar to the Boston Dynam modelsics, which recently went viral. At first, the quadruped robot will have only XNUMX units produced, aimed at “fans, robotics enthusiasts and engineers”. 4o3i4i

According to the company, the cyberdog was developed to perform tasks related to everyday life, trying to really emulate a robot dog with the archetype of "man's best friend". For this, the project had to be equipped with high performance components, such as the Jetson Xavier NX, created by NVIDIA. The 6-core chip uses architecture Arm 6 Carmel, with artificial intelligence and deep learning technologies, in addition to having 48 tensor cores and 384 CUDA cores.
To help move the “little dog”, 11 sensors, GPS and cameras were installed directly connected to an intelligent processing center so that accidents do not happen. A collaboration with Intel was also signed to implement a depth module called IIntel Realsense D450 Depth. The quadruped can reach speeds of up to 11,5 km/h, jump and do some more limited stunts.
Xiaomi's proposal is to make the cyberdog also obey commands. For this, the needs to activate the robot with a specific word or phrase, being able to delegate actions by voice and if connected with virtual assistants. We still don't know exactly what the full range of possibilities will be with the robot, but it should certainly be possible to teach some tricks.
Furthermore, the robot was built through an extensive partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the MIT. In its body there are 3 USB Type-C ports and HDMI input, which can be of great help to inventors who venture with the friendly dog made of metal.
Speaking of developers, CyberDog was made with an open source system, which allows people from anywhere to create and help in the evolution of the prototype in a t and shared way.

“The advancement of robotics involves multiple fields and is currently in a stage of global co-creation. Through open source, Xiaomi encourages developers around the world to contribute to this field, communicate with each other and progress together.”
Xioami's official note
Again, the cyberdog It won't be sold in any department store out there. Everything indicates that the ad is more of a “beta” phase of the robot-dog for learning robotics evolution, than actually a product to be marketed. For developers, the model will cost 9.999 yuan, which is around R$8.000 in direct conversion.
So, what did you think of the doggo? Today Xiaomi also announced the MIX 4, a high-end smartphone with a hidden camera.
