Google's Case and Conscious AI 6k511w

work on Google it requires some specific skills and also needs to follow some rather judicious rules. One of them is the confidentiality policies that, according to the company, the employee Blake Lemon ended up violating and was suspended. Blake Lemoine published an article on the social network Medium with the title "Is LaMDA Sentient?”, something like “Is LaMDA conscious?”, in free translation. In the article published on June 11, Blake Lemoine transcribed an interview he did with LaMDA, talking about different subjects, demonstrating that she had developed a conscience of her own. The fact that he exposed the interview and questioned the principles of technology ended up resulting in his suspension.

Brian Gabriel, a spokesperson for Google, said that after the controversy, that there is no evidence that LaMDA can be aware. A team made up of diverse professionals that included ethicists and technologists confirmed that Blake's concerns are unsubstantiated. And you, do you believe that the machine revolution is near?

Stargazer, the hypersonic aircraft 3b1w3i

Challenging the speed of sound is something fascinating, even after watching videos where some vehicles have already done it, it's always interesting to see the feat again. Thinking about making extremely fast trips, the startup Venus Aerospace presented the concept of a hypersonic aircraft called Stargazer. The proposal for Stargazer is that it will be a hybrid of a drone and spacecraft flying at Mach 9 (nine times the speed of sound), with the ability to make a global trip in one hour. The vehicle would be able to make a trip from an airport runway and fly to the beginning of space.

The Stargazer aircraft, from startup Venus Aerospace Reproduction: Interesting Engineering

The presented concept of this aircraft, coming from a mixture of drone and hypersonic spacecraft, would be able to take off at subsonic level on conventional airport runways, until being able to reach hypersonic levels.

Weighing more than 68.000 kilograms, the Stargazer can accommodate up to 12 engers and, according to the startup, trips that current planes take that take a good part of the day would be done in approximately an hour with this new vehicle. Venus Aerospace still intends to test drones at sub and hypersonic speeds as well. Will we see these little gadgets traveling at the speed of sound?
