Conceived by the NGO Computer Aid International, the initiative has the of Dell, Intel and Sustainable America Foundation (FAS), which helps to integrate the community with the project. The community, by the way, participated in all stages of planning and construction of the Solar Hub of Boa Esperança.
A project like this would not have been successful without the intense of the community. Solar Hub is purposely built next to a school, not inside it, precisely to be used by both students and the rest of the community. FAS is present in more than 800 Amazonian communities, providing all types of structural, educational and medical advice.

The center is manufactured using two transport containers, connected, which can be transformed into spaces for educational practices, health or workshops. In the case of education, each classroom has a combination of solar energy, Dell wyse energy-efficient solution for air-cooled PCs and servers, providing Internet access in remote areas. Currently, the internet is provided by Starlink.

O Solar Community Hub it also assists ten other nearby riverside communities, as well as indigenous people from the Mura,çourim and Apurinã tribes. These are services offered:
- Access to connectivity, digital education and complementary training courses aimed at professionalization for local riverside and indigenous communities.
- Environmental awareness activities aimed at children, based on educational materials on biodiversity conservation.
- Health care through telemedicine and training of community health agents.
- Rainwater collection and filtration system to provide access to potable water for the community.
The location also helps Deforestation Alert System (SAD) do IMAZON, developed with servers from Dell, used to identify occurrences of deforestation or environmental degradation in the Amazon region. It is an interesting way of offering good to those who need it most and still preserving the place where they live.

Teleservice and local training 2o223x
Since the opening of solar hub in Brazil, 778 hours of training have already been offered to young people and adults in the area of education for employability. In of telehealth care, between July 2021 and December 2022, more than 260 consultations were carried out and 126 doses of vaccine against COVID-19 were applied.

This is a space that is part of Intel's goals, which, by 2030, want to “engage industries, governments and communities to: revolutionize health and safety with technology; make technology fully inclusive and expand digital readiness.”
Diversity, inclusion and sustainability are points touched on in this project, serving as an example for other communities. Intel has in Brazil one of the 10 most important markets for the company in the world.

A Microsoft and computer aid are also part of the initiative, as well as the of the Government of the State of Amazonas, through the State Secretariat for the Environment (Sema), and the City Hall of Manicoré.
Traditional peoples also need access to health, academic training and technology. For this reason, Manicoré is grateful for this project, which aims to invest in the local population.

Despite having opened in Brazil in mid-2021, the original idea of offering this technological center was put into practice for the first time in 2013, in Nigeria.
Companies were then able to repurpose the idea in 27 other parts of the world, including Brazil, Colombia, Kenya, Mexico, Morocco and South Africa. A computer aid, who created the project, recalls that this number will be even greater over the next few months.

The companies involved hope that up to 1 million people will be helped through the initiative by 2030 and the next units of the solar hub will be assembled in Australia and Egypt. In addition to the fixed units, another six Solar Community Hub furniture will be installed in India. Another 12 connectivity points will be installed in the region between Poland, Romania and Ukraine in 2022.
For Dell, it is a pleasure to participate in this project, delivering technology that transforms people's lives. The company brought a PC virtualization solution called Dell Wise. With it, there is no need to invest in local machines. Everything is virtual, testing only the monitor and peripherals locally. This solution reduces local costs, facilitates maintenance and reduces the energy cost of the project.

In total, since the beginning of the initiative, 921 thousand people have been impacted by the work of SHC, this excluding those who used connectivity points in other parts of the world. What did you think of the idea? Tell us us Comment!
