O Showmetech TRIO is a compilation of the most interesting news of the week. Today we will talk about a new celestial body that will soon orbit planet Earth, acting as a “second moon” until November. We will also talk about the new device that Jony Ive, designer of the original iPhone, is creating with OpenAI, creator of ChatGPT. 5gmk

And we will comment on a new feature of WhatsApp, which will allow him to send messages to other applications like Telegram, Signal e Google Messaging. See all the highlights below.

with the official name of 2024 PT5, a new asteroid will orbit planet Earth until mid-November this year. Discovered by a NASA-funded asteroid detection system and a South African observatory in August this year, it is known to have 10 meters wide and cannot be seen with the naked eye or with the help of telescopes.

Although it is a novelty, it is worth ing that our solar system has more than 300 moons, many of them around Saturn and Jupiter. But this new Moon is special, as it is one of the only ones that will our official natural satellite.

The biggest conclusion about the origin of the asteroid, discovered by researchers Carlos de la Fuente Marcos e Raul de la Fuente Marcos, is that he came from Arjuna asteroid belt, a group of small rocks first seen in 1990 and which is currently concentrated near planet Earth.

Researchers believe that this new asteroid will only orbit the Earth for a short time. This is because in July 2006, another asteroid, called RH120, orbited the Earth for nearly a year before being thrown out of the Earth's atmosphere in July 2007.

Astronomers also believe that another larger asteroid left our atmosphere in 2020 after orbiting Earth for “several years,” NASA reports.

jon ive, the original designer of the first iPhone, left Apple in 2019, but that doesn't mean he's also out of the tech industry. In an update posted by The New York Times, it was revealed that he's now working with Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, on a device that is expected to be released soon.

Little is known about the results of this partnership, but the idea is to create a device that has integrated artificial intelligence to help s with various tasks.

The first information is that the device would have a touchscreen and a look inspired by the first iPhone from 2007. Jon Ive's company, LoveFrom, is leading the development of the device's design, with a team of ten people. In addition to Ive, Tang Tan e Evans Hankey, who worked with the professional on the first iPhone, are also on the project.

It is also known that the venture is being funded by Ive and Laurene Powell Jobs' company Emerson Collective. LoveFrom co-founder Marc Newson, said the AI product — and when it will hit the market — is still being worked out. We’ll be following the idea closely to see what to expect from this partnership between Jon Ive and OpenAI.

 WhatsApp Interoperability 385he

WhatsApp and Telegram can finally work together (Photo: Disclosure)

A major update for WhatsApp may finally be on the way: to comply with the European Union's Digital Markets Act, Meta will allow its s to send messages to s on other messengers like Telegram and Signal.

Very soon, Messenger and WhatsApp chats will be able to be viewed in a single window, which will save you from having to switch between the apps to respond to conversations. Meta will allow this unification to be chosen by the , so you won't necessarily see all conversations in the same application.

In addition to everything being seen in the same window, features such as emoji reactions, direct replies and read notifications will be implemented.

For the other part of the integration to work, WhatsApp, Telegram, Google Messages, Signal and other apps need to use the Signal Protocol, so that they are all on the same network. Meta has a history of being a company that blocks inoperability in its applications, so it will be necessary to create a Signal Protocol that is easily integrated into the competitors' system.

There are also reports that interoperability plans would be seen beyond messaging conversations, as voice and video calls are expected to be possible across apps by 2027.

When available, such features should only be rolled out to residents of European Union countries, as the Goal is just following the rules. But there's always the possibility that we'll see this in more parts of the world.

Meta explains, in a copy of the agreement that third-party apps must sign, that it will make the Signal Protocol available to partners upon request from its competitors.

  1. The idea that Earth could have a second moon is fascinating. It raises many questions about how this interaction would affect our climate and ecosystems. Furthermore, it would be interesting to discuss how the presence of an additional celestial body could influence gravity and, consequently, tides. Could you please explore more about the scientific implications of this theory and how it relates to our current understanding of the solar system? Congratulations on the content!”
