Elon Musk's fortune is around US$ 270 billion, which in direct conversion would be R$ 1.475.000.000.000,00 (more than a trillion reais) and even with all this amount, the businessman still apparently refuses to pay certain taxes. Holding a public vote on his Twitter , he asked whether, as a result of owing these taxes, he should sell 10% of his shares in Tesla.
And as much as expected was a wash of "yes", incredibly the vote for "no" almost won - considering that it's just a public vote on Twitter, and there may even be many trolls voting just for fun. Soon after, he still claims that the result of the vote will decide whether he would really sell that percentage, or not.

There's been a lot of talk lately about unrealized gains being a means of tax evasion, so I propose to sell 10% of my Tesla shares
Elon Musk still on tax collections
Musk is selling this percentage of shares after facing a lot of criticism around the world about his wealth, especially from political figures. The richest man in the world is the target of frequent criticism for not paying income tax, since he does not actually receive a salary from Tesla and is instead compensated by stock awards. Elon Musk does not have to pay taxes on this compensation until he sells the granted shares — something he hasn't done in a few years. Instead, he takes out loans using his possessions as collateral.
