From major documentaries to dramas, comedies, experimental works and films that have gained prominence on screen, this movie guide with LGBTQIAP+ characters is a comprehensive list of productions that have stories, protagonists and even secondary representation about the community. That is, it will have both acclaimed and important films for the history of diverse cinema and those that did a terrible job – either because of ignorance at the time, because of the purpose or because it was just a bad idea even if it was worse in execution. 651618

It is important to point out that there are many films beyond the western core of cinema, so the idea that we do not have enough representative films is wrong. The biggest problem is the lack of visibility that these productions suffer in the process. But here, at least, you will find romance stories with sugar water, plots with tricksters, investigation, science fiction, sexuality x religion and many other genres with characters that raise the flag – even if in a timid way.

As there are many productions, this guide will be divided into two parts, this being with films before the 2000s and the second after. Following the chronological order, follow the first list of the complete guide to movies with LGBTQIAP+ characters!
