One of the most anticipated titles for PlayStation gamers, Final Fantasy XVI received several news about its combat, story and RPG elements during the broadcast of State of Play, which took place this Thursday (13). For 25 minutes, the producer Naoki Yoshida took fans to the world of Enlightenment, the central plot point of Clive, the protagonist of this new RPG. 3m3q5j

For the first time in franchise history, combat Final Fantasy XVI will take place in real-time, deviating from the shift elements that existed in the DNA of previous games. Despite being the sixteenth game in the main franchise, Yoshida confirms that it will not be necessary to have played the other games to understand and follow Clive's story.
Using all the power of PlayStation 5, the game promises to deliver epic battles on a large scale without taking control out of the player's hands, as happened in Final Fantasy XV and VII remake. Fights against enemies, whether small or the size of gods, will take place in real time, without cuts and without cutscenes pre-rendered.

Inspired by “Hack and Slash” games such as devil may cry, is strong, demonstrated during the action moments during the broadcast. Clive can perform combos, air combos, use powers, slide, dodge, jump and summon gods (called Aicon in XVI) at any time of combat, delivering beautiful visuals that are already a trademark of the franchise.
Despite the existence of partners who accompany Clive on his journey, they will be fully computer controlled, that is, the player will not need to worry about the tactics and abilities of the other characters during the most tense moments of combat.
As not all Final Fantasy fans are particularly good at action games, Yoshida confirmed that the game will provide a special amulet to "lighten up" combat. This amulet will allow the player to enter a "pause" state during combat, making him defend or attack without having to be attentive the whole time.
The History of Final Fantasy XVI 4gd5h

The story of Final Fantasy XVI was also featured in the presentation. The protagonist is Clive, a squire of the Duke of Rosaria, who lives with the sole aim of protecting his master. The story will focus on three different points in Clive's life: adolescence, early adulthood and life beyond the age of 30.
Although the game starts with Clive in his early adult life, a big flashback (fully playable) will demonstrate the experiences that shaped our protagonist's choices. After an act of rebellion against the royalty of Rosaria, Clive awakens his powers as he seeks revenge on the attackers.
Through a fully explorable open map, the player will be able to know more about the world of Enlightenment, its past, its gods and its cultures, with different points of interest to discover. Clive will be able to meet new friends, allies and enemies in the quests, creating a unique experience for each player.
RPG elements are present in the game 6c491c

Even though the combat is fully tied to the action, the game hasn't broken free of its roots in the RPG genre. Players will be able to unlock special skills as they level up, improve weapons and equipment, acquire amulets that increase various character stats, and create various “builds”.
These elements can be explored in Cid's hideout, a kind of "hub" where the player can talk to other characters, read history books about the world of Enlightenment and much more. Cid's hideout is also the main point of trade, where merchants of all kinds gather to aid Clive's adventure.
In addition, the hideout will also provide several side quests for the player, ranging from simpler ones with a narrative focus to hunting mythical monsters scattered throughout the kingdom.
Final Fantasy XVI it's very close! The game is scheduled for release on the day June 22, exclusively for PlayStation 5. Watch the full stream, directly from the PlayStation on Youtube:
