A Futurecom is the largest IT and Telecom event in Latin America and took place in São Paulo between October 13th and 16th. The fair is more geared towards professionals in the IT areas and the more than 300 exhibitors bring network engineering technology, cloud computing and communication, but we search for the most interesting subjects you need to know!
Huawei
Still little known outside the telecom niche, the Huawei brought its entire line of smartphones, phablets and tablets. It is worth mentioning for its top-of-the-line device, the Ascend P7. Announced in August of this year in Brazil, it will soon be available in the country. This is very good news, because the device is beautiful! Utilizing metal on the sides and glass on the front and back, Huawei has employed only materials in a sleek body that's just 6,5mm thick.
The hardware is also impressive, with a processor quad-core HiSilicon Kirin 1,8 GHz (own development), 2 GB of RAM, 5-inch HD IPS screen, 16 GB of internal storage, 4G connection, 13 megapixel rear camera with Sony sensor and an incredible 8 megapixel front camera. Its price has not yet been announced, but with these specs, it should rival recent releases from Motorola, Sony, LG and Samsung.
Blackberry
If you thought Blackberry had given up on the smartphone market, you're wrong. The company prepares to launch the Z30 and port in Brazil. When it was announced, the Blackberry port caused a bit of amazement in the media, for not resembling any other smartphone. But it represents very well the company's new strategy: to differentiate itself from the competition, working with products and services focused on safety and productivity.
With a 4,5-inch square IPS screen, great resolution of 1440 x 1440, resulting in a density of 453 ppi, and physical keyboard QWERTY, port proves to be ideal for browsing the web, producing texts, viewing and editing PowerPoint, Excel and Word documents. In addition, the physical keyboard is also touch sensitive and allows control of the device through gestures. The great revolution at Blackberry was not in the release of version 10 of the operating system, but in the release of port combined with the 10.3, which comes with the Amazon App Store, bringing more than 200 Android apps to the Blackberry ecosystem. The device is very beautiful, well finished and certainly sets itself apart from the competition.
Qualcomm
Qualcomm, known for leading the mobile processor market, attended the event with a large booth and many innovations. The company is one of those responsible for the great revolutions in mobile computing and has placed great emphasis on the next wireless connection: the LTE-A. A step up from conventional 4G, LTE-A combines two frequencies to achieve speeds of up to 300 mbps. A smartphone present at the event managed to reach a speed of approximately 260 mbps!
To show the power of its processors present in most mobile devices, Qualcomm built a robot with a 3D printer and smartphone parts. The AI robot was able to learn basic visual commands and still replicate paths.
With so much technology demonstrated at Futurecom, the future of Internet of Things with 25 billion connected devices doesn't seem that far off.
