Gwendoline Christie, who plays Brienne in Game of Thrones, said in an interview with the Entertainment Weekly website that she was saddened to record the scene in which the knight is torn apart by Jaime: “I was upset for her. I know she's just a character and I'm a lucky actress to do this job. But it is heartbreaking.”
In King's Landing, Cersei tells Euron that the child she is carrying from Jamie is, in fact, his. If you were wondering why he made her sleep with Euron after complaining about him at court: it was to secure a future for her son.
Dany, Tyrion, Varys and Gray Worm along with the Unsullied arrive at the Red Keep to try to negotiate with Cersei, who tries to exchange Missandei's life for Daenerys' surrender.
Cersei then tells Missandei that if she has any final words, the time is now. She yells "Dracarys!" and Cersei orders Gregor Clegane to kill her, the knight then cuts off her head.
On the same day, Daenerys loses Rhaegal, one of her dragons, and Missandei, her close friend and confidant since she went to Slaver's Bay - now called Bay of Dragons. She turns her back on Cersei… and the episode ends. Now, apparently, it's war on Game of Thrones.
David Benioff and DB Weiss, the creators of the series, said in an interview with Variety that this point in the series shows that Daenerys is actually back where she started: “In some ways, the most important thing that happens to Dany in the fourth episode is the death of her second dragon. She continues: "I just wanted it to be a really cool moment that people would . And I feel like they [Benioff and Weiss] really gave me that moment. The scene shows Missandei's strength and how brave she is, even though she hasn't held a sword in the entire series."
