For the Minister of Culture, Sérgio Sá Leitao, the survey data from the FGV show the multiplier effect that the Game XP has for the domestic market. “I am sure that among the volume of visitors who visited the event, there are many people who are starting, from now on, to have a new look at the gaming sector. Not only as consumers, but also as a professional alternative”, he emphasizes.

To carry out the research, FGV interviewed 445 people between August 6th and 8th. The survey considered the participation of almost 100 thousand people in four days of event. From the previous surveys, there was a broader view of the importance and growth of the market. “Between 2012 and 2016, the average annual growth of the games sector was 28,7%, with an estimated growth of 16,5% per year until 2021. The games market is the 13th in the world, the largest in America Latin America and should double in revenue by 2021,” said Sérgio Sá Leitão, Minister of Culture.

Roberto Fabri, director of Game XP, says that the event managed to broaden the public's view of the gamer universe, in addition to opening new fronts for this gigantic industry by investing in the carioca scenario. “In this edition, It was very clear when we received entire families, who watched official championships played at Oi Game Arena for the first time and also ventured into GamePlay Arena consoles.
