The smartphone arrives with thinner edges than the line's predecessors, a detail that greatly pleased the company's fans. The rear finish is 3D glass, and one of the focuses of Sony was to make it more comfortable and easier to handle. It also has the IP65/68 certification, making it water and dust resistant.
In of performance, the Xperia XZ2 leaves nothing to be desired. The Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor is present, the most current from Qualcomm, in addition to 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage with microSD option, and the 5.7-inch screen with HDR technology and Full HD+ resolution (2160 x 1080 pixels). Its battery is 3180mAh and it has wireless charging.
About camera, the company seemed to leave a little to be desired on the front, which has a resolution of 5 megapixels and a lens with an aperture of f/2.2 only. But the rear camera still does well with its 19 megapixels, just like the predecessor Xperia XZ1. One of the novelties is the possibility of recording in slow motion, a feature that has been proving increasingly popular, at a speed of 960 frames per second in Full HD. This ends up breaking a pattern and suring even the new Galaxy S9, which records in HD. The aperture is f/2 and it has optical image stabilization.
O fingerprint reader is not on the side of the device, as in other models, but on the back, as is becoming more common. One of the details, however, that did not please much, was the fact that the company had thrown away the standard 3,5mm headphone jack. The explanation given was that the public of high-end smartphones mostly use headphones with Bluetooth connection.
The device arrives with an unprecedented and exclusive feature of the line, called Dynamic Vibration. This technology causes the device to vibrate in accordance with what is being watched on the device. For example, in action movies with gunfire and explosions, it ensures a more immersive experience.

The compact model arrives with a 5-inch screen, larger than the others Compact of the company that reached 4.6 inches maximum. The screen ratio is 18:9 and the resolution Full HD of 2160×1080 pixels, also improving this aspect (predecessor models came with HD resolution).
One of the advantages of the model Compact is that even with a smaller screen, it still arrives with the same performance as the larger model, that is, the same processor and hardware in general. For those who are not a fan of large screens or who like to use their smartphone with just one hand, it is a more than ideal option.
But it doesn't have all the highlights of the Xperia XZ2. The smaller screen model does not have Dynamic Vibration technology, does not wireless charging, has a smaller battery (2870mAh) and the back is not 3D glass but plastic. But it still comes with the improved design and fingerprint reader on the back. It also doesn't have a headphone jack.
