First impressions 2it28
The new phablet Sony inherits its name from the Xperia Z, which was not even released in Brazil. From it came the elegant design with glass front and back, frame aluminum and IP 55 and IP 58 protection, which give it water resistance. with screen of 6,4'' full HD, he is big, really big. Even those who are used to large smartphones or 5,5'' phablets will be amazed at the size of the Ultra Z. Despite this, it is extremely thin, with only 6,5 mm of thickness. Its 212 grams might seem like a lot for a phone, but considering its size, it's understandable.
Now that we've covered the design, let's get to the hardware. We were eager to test a gadget with the powerful Snapdragon 800. Besides him, the Ultra Z comes equipped with 2GB of RAM, new GPU Adreno 330, 16GB storage (expandable via microSD), Brazilian 4G and 8 SM. And the result of all this? O Sony Xperia Z Ultra became the fastest smartphone we've ever tested, making even the acclaimed Galaxy S4. Check out some benchmark tests below.
With just a few days of use, the performance of the new Sony is exemplary. It ran heavy games with ease and multiple applications simultaneously without stuttering. It has a beautiful display 6,4'' full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) with a density of 342 pixels per inch and Bravia's Triluminos technology. O phablet has been excellent for watching videos, writing emails, reading e-books and watching digital TV in the Brazilian standard.
For being waterproof, has the advantage of accompanying its owner anywhere, including in the bath and pool, which can be very useful. But he lacks the adventurous spirit of Xperia Go, its IP55/IP58 protection serves more to give you peace of mind, knowing that the gadgets It won't bring you a headache after getting in the rain or if someone drops you in the pool.
The only aspect of Ultra Z What hasn't impressed us so far is the camera. despite their 8 SM, the pictures taken are not very sharp even in favorable lighting conditions. In addition, it does not have a flash for low light moments. But we will still test the camera more calmly to confirm the results. We'll post more details soon in our full review, along with our battery life review. 3000mAh.
Anyway, what impression do we have so far? O Xperia Z Ultra It's an amazing device, but its positioning is still unclear. He is bigger than phablets 5,5'' and only slightly smaller than a 7'' mini tablet. This has its advantages and disadvantages, but what will tell you if it's worth it is the usage profile of each one. Used to a 4,8” screen, I'm having to learn to live with a much larger device. Some tasks became more difficult, others much easier. But one thing seems certain: the most complicated adaptation will be going back to a small screen after testing.
He certainly impressed us and we will continue to test his performance with the Snapdragon 800, its 3000mAh battery and its large 6,4'' full HD screen. read here o full review.
