Hands-on 1o1w1i
Not long ago Sony Mobile released the X. To be more exact, it hit the Brazilian market in October 2013. If you read our spec comparison between Z1 and Z2, you may have noticed that the numbers and photos of the X don't show much difference from its predecessor, which was to be expected since there's only 6 months difference between them.
When we run the tests and review of X, we were impressed with the quality of the materials, the design, finish and processing power. However, we were a little disappointed with the screen and camera, mainly.
O X, on paper, it's really not a revolution compared to the Z1. But it brings important evolution in aspects that had not been liked, which makes a big difference in practice.
The screen, which was previously TFT, had slightly dull images and a restricted viewing angle. Now, the Xperia Z2 has a screen of 5,2 '', slightly larger than the 5'' of the Z1, with technology IPS, which solves the problem of colors and viewing angles. In addition, the increase in screen size did not increase the dimensions of the device, resulting in thinner bezels.
The sound, previously just a single speaker at the bottom of the device, was just satisfactory. Now the X has one of the best audio experiences on smartphones, with two speakers on the front, providing good volume and stereo. With this, Sony declares the end of acoustic shells with your hands to listen to music and watch videos on your cell phone (who hasn't done it?).
When the Z1 hit the market, a lot was said about the 20,7 megapixels. Theoretically, its hardware would be capable of extraordinary photos, as it has the same sensor as compact cameras. In practice, the software failed to take full advantage of its potential, leaving us a little disappointed with its performance. Fortunately, Sony seems to have fixed this, and a quick comparison with X shows a remarkable evolution in the quality of the photos, putting it even in the competition of the best camera in a smartphone.
The chipset is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, which brings processor quad-core 2,3 GHz and Adreno 330 GPU. The RAM memory increased to 3 GB, with the internal memory of 16 GB remaining unchanged. There is for microSD card up to 128 GB. As with the Z1, digital TV is present in the 1-sec pattern.
The design remains basically the same as the Xperia Z line with the use of a unique aluminum structure, lots of glass and an omnibalance concept. the protection IP58 continues, allowing a complete immersion in fresh water for 30 minutes up to a depth of 1,5 meters. Despite the battery 3.200 mAh (compared to 3.000 for the Z1), the Xperia Z2 is thinner and lighter than its predecessor.
In short, there is no aspect of X which is very different from X. However, the set of improvements completely transformed the experience provided to the . With the Z1, Sony offered a good option for a device, but one that prioritized waterproof design and had an average screen and camera. With the Z2, the manufacturer brings a well-balanced device, capable of delivering a great experience in all aspects, this time without compromise.
The new top of the line features one of the most beautiful screens, one of the best cameras, design and materials and stereo sound. With software improvements, Sony shows that it listened to its customers and evolved its product with attention to every detail. Galaxy S5 take care, X It's cheaper (R$ 2.499) and comes with the Smartband (R$ 399), Sony's smart bracelet, a gift in the device kit.
