And the missing incestuous couple in The House of the Dragon has arrived. Check out how episode 4 of the series went!

Unlike the last few weeks, the episode of The Dragon House this Sunday (11) focused on erotic scenes and the discussion about sexual freedom. Although lukewarm, there was plenty of content for the incestuous couple's quirky fans and little useful advancement. 5t5h10

ing: this text contains spoilers!

Rhaenyra Targaryen, a blooming flower 4b363b

After the white deer rite of age in episode 3, rhaenira (Milly Alcock) had her reality check: she needs to get married. The good news for her is that as a princess and protagonist, she has the ability to choose who to marry.

Despite all her privileges, she doesn't want to get married. The opening scene of episode 4 is, in short, this: the princess dismissing all the suitors, because none of them draws her attention, even with this possibility that, as a princess, she can search for her life's romance; this is something new for Westeros, a fact confirmed by the queen's comments Alicent (Olivia Cooke).

Even in this context, what matters Rhaenyra Targaryen on his journey is when, after giving up all the lords who knelt and asked for his hand, he sees his uncle's dragon in Porto Royal. It's obvious: the tension between the two characters was in all of their scenes, even in the first episode.

With the return of the uncle Daemon (Matt Smith) and the news of victory in the war against fatten crabs, lunch is given to the royal family and some of the closest lords, serving as a thread for the themes discussed in the episode, the main ones being: marriage, love and sex. These topics enter the plot through a conversation of the queen Alicent with rhaenira, trying to explain that marriage is not just love, it is duty as well.

Fortunately, this is unknown to the princess who acts like a revolutionary. She claims that she doesn't want to get married just to give her husband heirs, much less to fulfill an agenda. No, she wants to love, to be loved, but the episode takes a different turn.

Divided into two narrative lines, the episode will follow rhaenira in your journey of sexual self-knowledge and Alicent in the frustration of being married out of duty. At this point, the episode was masterful and knew how to subtly paint this division by mixing elements.

In the scenes of the princess during this discovery - we will talk later, the elements are more sandy. The yellowish colors and quick movements and the effect of having a veil in our vision gives the impression that, as the princess discovers her pleasures, the image becomes sharper.

The elements of scenes rhaenira they are far more fun, showing their adventure through the “lower” city — the poorest and most morally questionable part of King's Landing. This adventure of escaping the castle at night and seeing inappropriate places is another rite of age, forcing the princess to grow up.

Meanwhile, the queen is narrated with cold tones, drawn to blue. This counterpoint is clear in the scenes as well. Alicent she can be seen with a baby in her arms, her youngest son, crying in tears, then trying to sleep, and finally going to serve the king.

Before commenting on the most important scene of the episode (an interesting parallel about sex between free and imprisoned people in different conditions of life), we need to talk a little about Daemon. After all, why did he come back?

Daemon Targaryen returned for what? 2q4815

In episode 3, Daemon targaryen ended the war against fatten crabs. In theory, the only royal duty that the prince had in recent times was precisely this war. His end also marks the possible end of his conflicts with the king. viserys (Paddy Considine).

And that's what happens. The brothers reconcile in front of everyone, even hugging each other. The relationship was great, everything was fine and perfect, but something that bothered me: why Daemon it returned? After all, let's be honest, why would the prince, after so many scenes of revolt against the king, return to King's Landing and worse: why would he be friends with his brother again? The answer is easy.

Daemon he wanted to see his niece, to have the opportunity with her that he always wanted. The adventure of escaping the castle late at night, taking her to the most suspicious corners of the city, wasn't just an adventure to amuse her, it was a way to access her desires.

And that happens when the prince takes her on a house of pleasures — which, by the way, is a great name for brothels. With a speech worthy of a leftist Alpha male, Daemon tell to rhaenira that sex is a freedom, and one of the most important. He says that the virgin princess is protected from all “evil” by royalty, that people seek freedom for sexual pleasure, just like him. This pursuit of pleasure will later be replicated by rhaenira, when questioning his own father why a man can have bards and still be irable.

Finally, what many fans wanted happens: they kiss and then a pseudo sexual scene begins, interrupted because Daemon give up the fight and walk away. Yes, he tries to have sex with his niece and when he realizes the “mistake” he leaves the girl in a brothel.

The worst thing is that, come to think of it, there are fans who really want to see incest. Anyway, it's just another normal Sunday in the family. Targaryen

That scene and the parallel between queen and princess 2u2z5c

I believe that this scene deserves a highlight and important comments. When the princess' adventure with her wandering uncle begins, Alicent is heard and seen with her son, even late at night. She's almost the same age as Rhaenyra, so yes, it's sad to see how a young girl is doomed, all alone, to duty.

While one young woman is watching a comedy show, drinking, playing hide and seek from her uncle, another is lying exhausted in bed, trying to sleep. Instead of being able to rest, Alicent is summoned by the king. For what? simple, for serve you as a woman.

In the sex scene, rhaenira he is happy, understands what he feels for his uncle and encourages him with very direct actions. As they try to be together, the scene is “fun”, consensual and demonstrates that little moment together. However, it still remains an incest scene.

Contrary to all this, Alicent she is laid down out of obligation, serving the king out of obligation. Her stare, paralyzed body beneath the king with the wounds is just a small part of the queen's reality. The lack of desire, the lack of will.

The two scenes come together when the characters meet the next day, and talk about rumors of the princess being in a brothel. Alicent shows concern for her friend, but doesn't know how to really help her with the king's conflict. There is also a mix of scenes as rhaenira finds out that she will be married soon, and whether the marriage will be a mitigation of her newfound sexual freedom.

A few moments from Viseyrs 5b6k1r

A moment of father and daughter without being Targaryen, that is, normal (image: Official reproduction HBO).

The throne is crumbling and worse: it's hurting viserys. Not just figuratively, but literally. The king with wounds that won't heal is always hurt again on the Iron Throne.

His health took a considerable deterioration. We can see from the black, almost petrified fingers, from the wounds on his back, Viserys is dying. To make matters worse, his daughter became the target of gossip from the white worm — the self Myseria, ex-fiancée of Daemon, and whoever told him was Otto High Tower.

Well, the Hand of the King, father-in-law and grandfather of the only male son of viserys was the messenger of terrible gossip. Even with care in telling, the king accuses him of conspiring against the princess. It is obvious that Otto I wanted to sow discord and show the king that the princess is not so perfect. This break in the princess's purity means more openness for her grandson to be the direct heir.

The good thing is that he can. The bad thing is that the discord of viserys reflects on all characters, starting with Alicent, ignored by the king. After breakfast, viserys argue with your brother Daemon. The prince tries to ask for his niece's hand in marriage, but, for the first time in the series, the king takes up a gun and threatens to kill his brother. the best is that viserys, for the first time in 4 hours of history, reacts to the problems: he decides to exile his brother once and for all.

After the family moment, the king dismisses Otto (Rhys Ifans) as hand of the king. Paying his respects to the man who accompanied and served two kings, viserys explains that he finally understood the ex-friend's motivations in so many things and also in his marriage to Alicent — let's give the old king a break, he really tried to be friends with the general, too bad he couldn't.

The “3 episodes in twenty minutes” project ends with viserys determining that the daughter will marry the heir of the Velaryons, laenor. Regardless of the princess's protests and her stings, the king determines her marriage, her duty, and the end of an era of liberties and privileges.

The episode ends with the princess being attended to by the Maester who gives her moon tea, or the famous abortifacient. The preparation is requested by the King, guaranteeing that the daughter will not have any children from her uncle. Even with the tone of sexual freedom, it's important to see how rhaenira is still treated like a woman herself: the event must be forgotten by everyone and any trace erased.

Finally, some important points from The House of the Dragon 1gb32

The princess's animation to choose her husband is incredible (image: Official HBO reproduction).

One of the most appealing scenes to fans of Game of Thrones that's when the king shows the famous dagger that is always on his waist. Framed in a thoughtful and peculiar way, the object has already been the target of several conspiracies.

Some conspiracies said that the blade would be the object used in the attempt against Bran stark, there in the first season, responsible for the family war. This hasn't been confirmed, but in the last episode, we got to see her in more detail. The weapon is not Bran, but the one used by Arya Stark in the last season of Game of Thrones to kill the King of the Night.

In this episode, viserys shows his daughter the secret of the artifact. The blade is engraved with the words of Aemon Targaryens, the Conqueror. , in the first episode, about the secret that is ed on from Targaryen e Targaryen about the prince who was promised?

It's the same speech. viserys talk about the ancestor's vision, how important it is to them that the tradition continues with the duty and secret of, in the future, having the prince promised and being a Targaryen.

In addition to being another strong connection with Game of Thrones, after all, it is good to maintain a level of appeal to the most nostalgic fans, the weapon is a direct influence of George RR Martin. The writer, in an interview, has already explained that the end of the books will be different, and The Dragon House it's a little message.

To close our weekly text of The Dragon House, we have again several references to Game of Thrones. The theater, something used a lot in the arcs of Arya Stark, or even the prediction of a witch to rhaenira quickly, not to mention the tree where uncle and nephew talk for the first time. It's those little connections that keep a loyal audience even when the episode is lukewarm.

the next episode of The Dragon House will be available on Sunday (17), at 22 pm on HBO or through the platform streaming HBO Max

After an epic episode, it's normal to be somewhat lukewarm. It serves as a continuation, but is not exciting on its own.
