O Instagram Stories, launched in August, is a new tool for sharing everyday moments that more than 100 million people use daily. Today (18), the social network announces that the functionality will be even more practical, by integrating the Explore of the app.
on top of explore page, you will find a new section with suggested stories that highlight some of the funniest, most creative and interesting stories from the more than 500 million s that make up the community of Instagram worldwide. As with the other sections of the explore tab, suggested stories will be tailored to your interests.
How to use Instagram Stories
With Instagram Stories it's easy and fun to share everyday moments, and you can get creative with features like neon pen, the emojis, or even together with the apps Hyperlapse (very slow motion footage, available for the Android e iOS) or Boomerang (short video generator in repeat, available for the Android e iOS).
Photos and videos on Stories disappear after 24 hours e do not enter the profile — reactions and conversations remain private. It's really easy to control who you share your Stories, it is even now possible to mute the Stories who you don't want to see anymore.
Although the Instagram Stories has only been available for a few months, several features have been introduced since its launch. That's why we've put together some tips and a "how to" so that people can get the best out of the Instagram Stories. See:
- Stories from people you follow appear in the bar at the top of the feed.
- When there is a new story, the profile picture appears with a colored ring around it.
- To see someone's story, just tap their profile picture.
- To view stories in their own time, simply tap forward and backward (to skip forward or backward through the story) or swipe to jump to someone else's stories.
- To comment on a story, you can tap the “send message” option to start a private conversation via I. Unlike regular posts, there is no option for public likes or comments.
- When viewing your own story, swipe up to see who has viewed each video or photo.

- Use Boomerang and Hyperlapse: Any video recorded in the last 24 hours with your camera, including Boomerang and Hyperlapse, can be ed to your story. To do this, enter Stories and from the camera screen, swipe down and choose the video.
- Designs: Discover the artist within you with drawing tools — including three types of pens. You can adjust the size of the pen tip by tapping on the three dots that appear on the left side of the screen, swiping between colors to see other shades, and tapping and tapping on the color to choose even more options from the wide range of colors.
- Add text: Drag and compress the size or rotate the text to define where and how you want it to look, add emojis, colors behind to make it stand out, or paint the entire screen by dragging the pen across the image.
- Add filters: Add different filters to your video or image by simply swiping left.
- Quick shortcuts: Press the screen to pause a story, tap on the left side to go back or tap on the right side to skip forward.
- Embrace the neon: Use the neon pen to make your stories stand out, from neon showers to stylish writing.
- Share your stories only with whoever you want: You can easily hide stories from those you don't want to see them, even if it's someone who follows you, just go to your profile page, select the tools icon in the top right corner and scroll down to “Story Settings”.
- Share your story on your profile: If you want to keep any part of your story, you can post the video or image to your feed. Go to “…” in the lower right corner of the story you want to share and click “Share as post”.
- Colored text: Choose a color when adding text to video or photo. Swipe on the colors above the keyboard to see more, or select and hold the circle to customize a color.
- Mute Stories: You can mute someone's story by selecting and holding their profile picture that appears in the top bar of their feed. When you mute a story, it goes to the end of the bar and will not be automatically shown while you are watching the stories.
- Autosave: Automatically save photos and videos to your phone's camera roll. Just select the gear icon in the upper left corner of the stories camera and enable the “Save Shared Photos” option.
- Zoom: Hold the circle to record videos and swipe up: Capture every detail with the zoom tool.
