A Lenovo launched this year the line ideapad 320, focused on performance and productivity. Compared to the previous line, the Ideapad 310, we see an evolution in finish, screen quality and graphics processing. 5u1bf
We received for testing the most complete version of the line (80YH0000BR), with a core i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM and 2 TB of storage. After 1 month of testing, check out the results and impressions now.
Finishing and Connectivity 2c2w2e
The notebook chassis is made of plastic and comes in “platinum gray” color. On the inside, it has a texture that gives the feeling of brushed steel. Compared to the previous line, it has thinner edges and a more resistant finish, in addition to being lighter, I believe because it doesn't have an optical reader, despite having an empty drawer in the place where the reader should be.
On the left side we find all the ports available on the device, 1x HDMI, 2x USB 3.0, 1x USB Type-C (3.0), 4-in-1 card reader (SD, SDHC, SDXC, MMC), RJ-45, charger input, headphone jack and microphone.
It has Wireless 1×1 AC connection, Bluetooth 4.1, Ethernet 100/1000M.
Keyboard and Touchpad 3ayh
The keyboard follows the Lenovo, where the keys have rounded edges. The touch feeling on the keys is quite pleasant, however, as it has a numeric keypad, the keys for some people may seem to be too close together and bother typing, which for me was not a problem.
The keyboard is not backlit, which, for the line's intent, which is to deliver good performance at a cheaper cost, would make no sense.
O touchpad despite being very large, it bothered me a little, presenting difficulties in recognizing two touches, where simple operations such as dragging files were necessary to use both hands.

Fabric 3c653a
The version we tested has a screen Full HD of 15.6 with resolution of 1920 x 1080. In relation to the previous line, we noticed a good improvement, before it was just HD with resolution of 1366 x 768.
The screen has anti-glare treatment, which provides better visual comfort. During the tests I had a slight impression that despite the excellent image quality, the contrast and colors often gave the impression of a “washed out” image.
Performance 58a2u
With a 7th generation Intel Core I7-7500U processor, 16 GB of DDR4 RAM and an Nvidia GeForce 940MX 4 GB graphics card, the notebook performed excellently. The bottleneck is on of the 2 TB HD, which is not an SSD, so we can notice some slowness when connecting and loading some large files.
Other than that, I used the notebook with Android Studio open, compiling some application projects, Deezer, several open tabs in Chrome and Firefox, Word and Excel, as well as some games and I was very satisfied with the notebook's performance.
If it is possible to an SSD HD, I highly recommend it, for sure the machine will be an airplane, in addition to using the empty drawer that would be the optical reader for the upgrade.
Video card 4j281e
The ideapad 320 tested has a dedicated graphics card Nvidia GeForce 940Mx with 4 GB RAM memory, in addition to Intel HD Graphics 620.
The dedicated card did well in tests running games like FIFA 18 coins, Counter Strike e League of Legends at maximum setting. For games like Paragon, Star Wars Battlefront 2 e Call of duty wwii, it was necessary to lower it to medium or low, because the number of frames dropped a lot playing at high, but it managed to run the games.
I believe it does the trick for heavy applications like AutoCAD, Solidworks, Photoshop and some games.
Battery 554u5p
It has a 2 cell battery (30 Wh), which in the tests lasted an average of 4 hours of browsing with several open tabs, Deezer and Excel, using the screen brightness at 50%. For a battery of this capacity, it delivers what is expected.

Conclusion 60664y
After spending this time testing the ideapad 320, I must say that he pleased me a lot. The idea of the line is to bring performance at an affordable price and that goal was certainly achieved.
I leave only 2 observations that are related to the touchpad, which is not very pleasant to use, and the SSD HD, which if placed in the notebook as an upgrade, will bring an exceptional performance gain.
If you are looking for a notebook to work with development, some programs that demand a little more from the machine and even run some games, it is certainly an excellent option at a better cost than other options on the market.
