The new line of peripherals home office from Logitech has the Brio 500 webcam, which promises 1080p resolution, 60 fps and smart filters. Learn more about this device in the review below. 6r2q5s

It is important to emphasize an interesting point about this device: it is an ultra wide model, making the product much more than just a webcam for video conferences, and can be very useful for recording content, for example.

Design 145g70

As with all peripherals in the line home office that Logitech has been betting on in recent months, the design of the Brio 500 webcam is minimalist and compact. We received the model in graphite color, made of soft matte plastic.

In the box is the camera with a USB C cable 1,5 m long and an adaptable with a 'claw', to fit the device on any surface of the 's preference.

Cylindrical in shape, the Brio 500 has a camera protection film, two microphones with noise reduction and a flash.

Camera 2xzk

The Logitech Brio 500 webcam has two image resolution options, 1080p/30 fps (or 1920 x 1080 pixels) and 720p/60fps (or 1280 x 720 pixels). Its field of view can be adjusted to 90, 65 or 78 degrees, with 4 times digital zoom and autofocus.

Still on the camera, it has some filters for image adjustment, such as: automatic light correction, advanced image quality (based on artificial intelligence) and automatic framing, which keeps the focus of the image always on the 's face, even when moving. . the app LogiTune guarantees the good functionality of these mechanisms.

During the image and video tests, the Brio 500 webcam proved to be efficient for video conferences and the image quality can be easily changed according to the 's taste; even in lower resolution, it ends up delivering a satisfactory result.

Despite being Full HD, the webcam has some limitations: the image is slightly pixelated in well-lit environments and has noise in dark scenarios. But honestly, I don't think it's much different from the image quality of a smartphone or more expensive webcams on the market, the image is still sharp and vibrant.

The intelligent auto-framing filter was the most interesting to test, it works very well when we leave the camera zoom at maximum and the AI follows your face without any difficulty.

In addition to this filter, we still have brightness, contrast and saturation adjustments, which help and considerably improve the quality of the image. Autofocus, however, is a bit slow. ing that all these features are accessible through the Logi Tune application.

Finally, the Brio 500's field of view is excellent.

Video conference 576x4h

I performed some videoconferencing tests on the main corporate calling applications, Zoom, Meets and Teams. You can check below my impressions about the performance of the Brio 500 during the experiments.

teams 2u1r1p

Let's start with a negative experience, which was generated much more by the call platform than by the webcam, which teams it just didn't recognize the webcam at all, even changing settings and trying to reto the call. The audio, however, worked.

Even changing the settings, Teams did not recognize the Logitech webcam (Screenshot: Larissa Bueno/ Showmetech)

The question remains whether it is an incompatibility issue or a Teams issue.

Zoom 326c13

Zoom It is a very intuitive platform to use that had no difficulty recognizing the Brio 500 webcam and its features, the automatic framing effect worked normally and through Logi Tune it is possible to make changes in real time.

Satisfactory webcam resolution during Zoom meeting (Screenshot: Larissa Bueno/ Showmetech)

Meet 1a6256

The experience with Google Meet it was equally satisfactory, as well as Zoom the application had no difficulty in recognizing the webcam, which also had the effects activated by Logi Tune.

Audio 3n1j5g

The audio was also a factor that proved to be very positive, since, even from afar, it captures the sound well. But it doesn't have advanced settings that make it possible to adjust noise or limit the capture of external sounds; I think it's something the needs to do manually by accessing the computer's own settings. If you are going to use the Brio 500 for functions other than conventional videoconferencing, choose to buy a microphone.

Impressions 295x5p

Right from the start, you can already see that the Logitech Brio 500 webcam is more than a camera for remote work, because despite the proposal of being a compact, easy-to-use peripheral to break a branch, what you get is a webcam with much more potential . Not just for the great image resolution that speaks for itself, but for the interesting features that bring versatility to the device.

The low cost compared to other webcams on the market that promise high performance is another positive point of the Brio 500, it promises less for a more than satisfactory experience.

The only negative point, in my opinion, is the USB C port, which is not available on most computers and notebooks, requiring the purchase of an adapter to be able to use the Webcam. I believe that this adapter could come with the Brio 500.
