Already on Wednesday morning, three vessels arrived in the area to start searching, using different technologies and probes to try to capture a signal referring to the submarine. At the same time, other militaries and agencies worked closely with the Command.

Within these teams, there were five surface means involved in the search and that in 24 to 48 hours there would be more teams involved, in addition to C-130 aircraft.

It was shortly after midnight on Wednesday that authorities said that the aircraft detected underwater noises  in the search area and, as a result, underwater search operations were relocated, although the source of the noises remained unknown.

The sounds were picked up several times Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, according to the Coast Guard. Officials said the underwater search would continue while US Navy experts analyzed data initially collected by the Canadian aircraft.

There was no official confirmation that the wreckage found belonged to the submarine, but considering that since the search began no sign had been detected, the officials began to organize themselves considering this clue.

One factor that weighed against the search is that it ended today, the deadline stipulated by the oxygen scientists that the missing submarine would have, which greatly reduced the chances of finding the five crew still alive.
