A Lenovo announced earlier this month Moto G5 Plus review with all the news present in the device. But thinking that a cell phone R$1.499 who has a younger brother, almost identical, for R$999, we understood that it was important to talk about the differences between each of them. 2p343
Therefore, the Lenovo gave away a Moto G5 to run tests with the Moto G5 Plus for one week. These are the news you need to know!
Straight to the point: which is better? Moto G5 or Moto G5 Plus? 64322
“Best for whom?” I ask. If we think in a shallow but at the same time obvious way, is the Moto G5 Plus. Bigger, with more battery and a more advanced processor it is the right choice, if we weren't talking about price too. When comparing the two cell phones, for me, it's as if each one belongs to a different category.
O G5 would be a basic-intermediate, while the Plus would be something like intermediate-advanced. What differentiates one from the other is 499 reais difference, in the suggested price, but at the time of "let's see", some surprises and disappointments.
screen and design 2e622x
Both cell phones are very similar. Practically the same size, it's hard to tell if it's a Moto G5 or a Moto G5 Plus. Both have a fingerprint sensor, come in the same colors (black or gold) and with the same aesthetic characteristics.
A screen difference is 0,2 inch (5″ for one and 5,2″ for the other), which makes both very easy to hold and use, and 200 mAh battery (2800mAh for the smallest and 3000mAh). On a daily basis, the duration of the device is similar, although the Plus gives you more security when it comes to more intense use of the smartphone.
These are not the points that make the difference when choosing one model over another. Now the beast catches fire.
Daily use 5z6t2x
Both Moto G5 and the G5 Plus have 2GB of RAM. The similarity ends there. The smaller version runs the 430GHz Snapdragon 1,4 processor, while the larger version uses the 625GHz Snapdragon 2 processor. And yes, there we are talking about differences.
When launching applications, loading heavier files and even using multitasking, the Moto G5 Plus comes out ahead. When it comes to opening Facebook, using WhatsApp and taking a picture or two, the smaller version does just as well. Now, if you intend to play some heavier games or even watch videos with a lot of information, the Plus model is the right one.
It's not like he's perfect either. There is a drop of frames in heavy games or games that demand more from the smartphone, and when we talk about Moto G5 the situation gets even worse.
As I mentioned in Plus review, it is possible to run a Asphalt 8 with the cell phone choking from time to time, but on the Moto G5 the experience is already more complicated. No wonder I talked about the models of the same line being at different levels.
Battery and operating system 1m172y
Both smartphones have fast battery charging and what differs from the smaller version with 2800 mAh to the larger version with 3000 mAh is little, as I mentioned above.
both run the Android Nougat no problem. Because Lenovo makes the operating system as clean as possible, its experience on devices is very good.
Camera 2xzk
I have a certain problem when it comes to camera. At first, for me, the Moto G5 photos come out mysteriously clearer than normal compared to the Plus. However, with the one megapixel difference, I dare say that the smaller version rear camera is better than the larger one (13MP for the G5 and 12MP for the G5 Plus).
I need to say that compared to the Moto G4 Plus camera, the G5 Plus has a good drop. Speaking of the selfie camera, both fifth-generation models feature 5MP, however the larger version seems to capture more detail. Anyway, for “social media” photos, both smartphones do an ok job.

Price and final considerations 6u3310
As I said at the beginning, both cell phones are good and it depends on the consumer's need. If you need to change your cell phone, or want a smartphone with a fingerprint sensor, but don't care about processing and heavy games, without a doubt the Moto G5 it's your cell phone. If your business is a “plus” in everything, and you don't want to spend on a Galaxy A7 or on Moto Z Play, this may be the most affordable option.
Tip: at FastShop, the Moto G5 is leaving for R$888,50 in sight, while the Moto G5 Plus comes out for R$1304,13 in Magazine Luiza.
