Last week, the Motorola announced two new features in its line of tablets: XOM 2 e XOOM 2 Media Edition. Although thinner, the main specifications do not deviate much from the original model:

  • Processor: 1.2GHz dual core U
  • System: Android 3.2, with promise of version 4.0.
  • Display: 10.1 inch HD (XOOM 2) or 8.2 inch HD (XOOM 2 Media Edition) screens, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.
  • MotoCast: new system for sharing files between tablets and computers.
  • Splash Guard Coating: splash and moisture protection.
  • Motorola Stylus: Optional pen for writing on tablet screen.
  • Adaptive Virtual Surround (XOOM 2 Media Edition only).
  • 20% increase in graphics performance (XOOM 2 Media Edition only).
  • Universal remote ((For XOOM 2 Media Edition only).
  • WiFi and Bluetooth.
  • Availability: after 15 November, initially in the UK.

Os tablets they have cut corners that, according to the company, make them more comfortable to hold. In addition, they are lighter and thinner than XOM original. See the promotional video below:

Although interesting for s looking for their first tablet Android, the new versions of XOM are only a small increment in relation to the previous model. Therefore, we do not recommend replacement.

Alert: If these models reach the national market, we make a second caveat: the Motorola insists on not updating the models sold in Brazil. In other words, be prepared to wait a long time for any system updates and/or bug fixes.

We will bring you more information, as well as a review of these devices soon.
