Practicality is the main concern of Kingston when launching your new portable SSD: Kingston XS1000. Now available for sale in Brazil, the brand's new product seeks to provide convenience with dimensions small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. In addition, the 2TB external SSD offers fast file writing and reading rates. See more about the new product: 11214z
Kingston has been releasing smaller and smaller SSDs 1g4z4e

It is not the first time that Kingston is trying to create more minimalist solutions for its consumers. In September 2021, the brand launched the Kingston XS2000 SSD, which has a USB 3.2 connection, reading files at up to 2GB/s and ranging from 500GB to 2TB with a size of just 5 cm. However, what seemed strange when this other storage device hit the market was the lack of a “1000” model as a predecessor.

It didn't take long for Kingston to arrive with its newest SSD which, like the previous release, has a USB 3.2, and on Generation 2 of connectivity technology. Officially released at Computex 2023, one of the most striking differences is that the SSD Kingston XS1000 comes with only two storage options: 1TB and 2TB. Thus, the manufacturer emphasizes the simplicity of the new device, both for the technical characteristics and for the more minimalist design.

Having a length just 2 cm longer than the previous release, the XS1000 even so, it still manages to be portable and, at the same time, have the ideal technologies for those looking for speed. Regarding reading, the 2TB SSD reaches up to 1.050 MB/s and 1000 MB/s in writing. In addition to technical factors, there is also the advantage of its weight, 28,7 g, and with only 7 cm in length.
Kingston also thought about connection needs. In this sense, the presence of a cable USB-C in the SSD package and connectivity to USB-A make the product a versatile option to operate with different Gadgets, with 29 cm cable. Even in of cost, the 1000 model of the device manages to outperform itself when compared to the SSD launched two years ago: with 1TB, it costs R$ 1.101,10 at Kingston official store,
What may seem less attractive to Kingston consumers is the fact that there is no hardware encryption in the XS1000 — this feature, absent in the new release, appears in the structure of the device itself, which creates a code to protect the stored files, preventing that hackers try to break them. Along with this negative point, Kingston also stopped offering a 4TB version of the SSD, as other portable storage technology companies do.
But, if you are looking for an SSD that is comfortable enough to take to different places, the Kingston XS1000 SSD is a good choice. People who use different operating systems on a daily basis also have a good chance of making good use of the device.
