A Nintendo has always been a games company synonymous with innovation, even if it hasn't always hit the nail on the head with its inventions (Virtual Boy, Wii U…). And it was with this idea in mind that today it revealed in a surprise announcement the Nintendo Labo, a platform for the creation and interaction of paper peripherals for the Nintendo Switch. 57u4k

With the intention of stimulating children's imagination with the use of cardboard inserts – and, who knows, reviving the ancient art of Japanese paper folding, the Origami – the new peripherals, called toy-cons, are folded and assembled to function as real gaming accessories on the Switch.
In the promotional video we see that there are several possible ways to assemble the cardboard inserts, such as a piano, a steering wheel, a fishing rod and even armor! Plus, kids can customize their paper mounts with markers, stickers, and anything their imaginations allow.
The three main pillars of Nintendo Labo include: do, play and discover. And, following these ideas, each product kit comes with a cartridge with the minigames and items such as rubber bands and plastics. When starting the game, there are a series of instructions to help you create the pieces and how to use them in the games.
The expectation of Nintendo to Labo is to stimulate creativity and serve as a didactic and playful tool for children. We still don't know many details about the games that will work with the toy-cons, but our hopes are that the Nintendo know how to use this new tool wisely and in a fun way.
O Nintendo Labo will be available from April 27 in the United States, in two variants: Variety Kits e Robot KitBy $69.99$ e US$79.99respectively.
