“Over the next few months, we will be doing planned real-world and in-game events along with exciting new features that will make you explore the world with your friends and family. Get ready for a lot of fun over the next two months.”
To start the celebrations, Pokémon GO will celebrate the Summer Solstice (Winter for the Southern Hemisphere) with the event of Fire and Ice Pokémon. starting in the day June 13, Trainers will gain various XP bonuses for throwing Poké Balls right, discount on Lucky Eggs and of course many fire and ice creatures.

Shortly after the start of the event, the gyms around the world will be closed for a good update. This novelty is part of Niantic's package of develop a fairer and more fun way for trainers to engage with Pokémon gyms.
The developer also announced that it will make its first real-world event with Pokémon GO. O Pokemon GO Fest Chicago will take place in Chicago, United States, at Grant Park, on July 22nd.

In addition to Chicago, other cities in the United States and Japan will host these events. for now the Brazil is out of these events.
