It's that wonderful time of year. A year ago, ladies and gentlemen, you were crazy about Pokémon GO. One of the most popular games/apps in the history of the Play Store and App Store had been released this 6th of July, but in 2016. y1z4
The problem you : it was not a global release. The Brazilians spent a month in the anguish of playing Pokémon GO. We followed many on Twitter for nights and more nights hoping the game would come out “anytime”. A server site, for example, kept indicating when the application would be available in which country.
The hype and desire to play were so great that Niantic ended up speaking out, saying that “soon” the game would be released in Brazil. And it was.
Pokémon GO was in the Brazilian and international news, parks were packed for a few months with players trying to catch every Pokémon. Street vendors took advantage of the period to sell pizzas, power banks, plush toys, team t-shirts and much more.
According to a interview given to Verge, Niantic CEO John Hanke said they are “six months behind what they wanted”, which brings us to a weak period in the game's history: after a few months without much news, players started to abandon the app: cell phone battery ran out fast, not all Pokémon were available, gyms were boring, there was no exchange between trainers and not even the second generation of little monsters was about to arrive.

Now the situation is a little better. You probably won't see any more parents and ladies playing Pokémon GO on the bus, however, it is undeniable that the game has matured, or at least is as it should have been from the start. Recently, for the celebrations of one year, the gyms have been remodeled.
During these 12 months we also had themed events, the inclusion of Ditto and the second generation of pokemon. In an official statement, the Niantic thanks for this first year:
“It's hard to believe that Pokémon GO was only released a year ago, and what an amazing year it has been! Since you ed us last July, you've demonstrated the true power of Pokémon GO and augmented reality by looking for Pokémon in the real world, exploring on foot, making friends, and discovering new places even in your own neighborhood.”
According to the note, the trainers have already captured over 125 billion Pokémon. That's 17 Pokemon for every inhabitant of Earth (although the game's base isn't 7 billion, which is an extraordinary number).

With new gym battles, the game now starts to get more exciting. It is through them that Raid battles take shape and it is through it that we will soon have Raid battles with legendary pokemon. John Hanke told the Verge that soon exchange between trainers and player x player battle will arrive and regrets having announced these functions so early that they still didn't arrive.
To celebrate today, Trainers around the world will be able to capture a Pikachu wearing Ash's original hat in the anime. This is not the first time that Niantic has held a Pikachu themed event, as was the case for Christmas and franchise's 21st anniversary.
The novelty will be available until July 24.
