Pre-registration for a vaccine against COVID-19 aims to speed up the vaccination campaign for priority groups

On Monday, the 18th, the government of São Paulo launched a specific website for the population to pre- for vaccine against COVID-19. The launch of the website Vaccine Now takes place after the unanimous vote by Anvisa for the emergency use of the Corona Vac in Brazil, and the application of the first dose in the country last Sunday, 17. 3w3h5

The website's main objective is to speed up the vaccination campaign, and emphasizes that at this first moment, only priority groups will receive the first dose of the vaccine. The initial phases are aimed at health professionals, who will receive the immunizing agent in their workplaces, and indigenous people.

In addition, it is important to note that if the person is not from any of the priority groups, it is good to avoid pre-ing for the vaccine at this time, in order not to congest the site and result in server crashes, harming others.

For pre-registration for vaccine against the new coronavirus, it is necessary to include data such as F number, address, municipality and date of birth. However, the government of São Paulo emphasizes that filling in such information is optional, and is not configured as an appointment to receive the vaccine, but a way to avoid agglomerations and ensure faster service to the population.

Nurse Monica Calazans was the first person to be vaccinated in Brazil

If you are not able to complete this registration, do not worry, because the vaccination will also be done without it, just present the necessary data and complete a registration at the vaccination post when the time comes. The website also shows other information such as vaccine effectiveness and vaccination locations.

The vaccine already available in Brazil is the Corona Vac, developed in partnership with the Butantan Institute and the pharmacist Sinovac Life Science. The vaccine has an overall efficacy rate of 50,4%, and an efficacy of 78% in preventing mild cases. For moderate and severe cases, the vaccine is 100% effective. Its application is made in two doses spaced between 15 to 28 days.

The first person to be vaccinated in Brazil was Mônica Calazans, a 54-year-old black nurse who served as a volunteer in the testing phase, and had previously received a placebo, contrary to what fake news idealizes on the internet. A total of 112 health professionals were immunized on the 17th at the Hospital das Clínicas, Faculty of Medicine, University of São Paulo, accompanied by Governor João Dória (PSDB).

In addition to pre-registration for vacina, the government of São Paulo started sending the necessary supplies to referral hospitals in the state, and the forecast is that on Tuesday, 19, the doses of CoronaVac will be sent to other states.

Vaccination is the beginning of a new journey towards the fight against COVID-19, and we reiterate that any type of early or alternative treatment has no scientifically proven guarantee of effectiveness, but mass vaccination saves lives.

Readers can pre- for the vaccine by accessing Official website Vaccine Now.
