What is the Six Invitational? 521z6b
The Six Invitational is an annual competition for Ubisoft's Rainbow Six Siege. Since its first edition, it has pitted the best teams in the world against each other, seeking the title of World Champion and a prize estimated at a few million dollars.
The first edition took place for the Xbox One and PC platforms with six teams competing against each other on each platform, so in 2017 there are two world champions, the Elevate, who defeated the Team Vitality in the Xbox One final, and the Continuum, who defeated the eRa Eternity on the PC.
In the second edition, in 2018, the competition became exclusive to the PC, having a complete reformulation, increasing the number of 6 teams to 16 and with the addition of a group stage in the competition. The winner of this edition was PENTA, defeating Evil Geniuses at the final.
Its third edition, in 2019, maintained the format of the past competition and the champion was G2, winning the Team Empire at the final. A G2 it was made up at the time of the same players who had won the title of world champions the previous year.
Its fourth edition took place in 2020, not changing the format of the competition from the previous year and, among the 16 teams competing, the winner was Space Station Gaming who defeated the Brazilian NiP (Ninjas in Pajamas) in the final.
In 2021, the fifth edition of the Rainbow Six Siege world championship took place, now played by 20 teams and having changes in its format to have a more accurate distribution before the Qualifiers.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there were changes in dates, happening two months later than expected. This year was the first title for a Brazilian team in the Six Invitational: the NiP was the champion of that edition, having won the also Brazilian Team Liquid at the final.
The 2022 Six Invitational pitted the 20 participating teams against each other, seeking to reach the title, and this year's champion was TSM defeating Team Empire at the final.
We arrived at the current edition of the Rainbow Six Siege world championship, the Six Invitational 2023; the seventh edition of the competition takes place between the 7th and 19th of February.
How does the competition work? 32r6f
That year the Rainbow Six Siege World Championship had some changes. The teams will compete in the best of 3 format, in which they will be able to play up to three maps of the game chosen by the teams in confrontation.
In the Groups each team will have to face all others present in the group, which will happen between the 7th and 11th of February. Points will be distributed as follows:
- 2:0 victory = 4 points;
- 2:1 victory = 3 points;
- 1:2 defeat = 1 point;
- Defeat of 0:2 = 0 points.
From each group, the 4 best teams will advance to the Playoffs.
Os Playoffs will take place from the 13th to the 15th of February. In this phase there will be double eliminations, in best-of-3 matches. The ranking will be decided according to the team's placement in the group phase:
- Each team ranked 1st in their respective group is classified for the 2nd round of Upper Bracket Playoffs.
- Teams ranked 2nd in the groups qualify for the 1st round of Upper Bracket Playoffs. These teams will have to choose a team that was in 3rd place in the group stage, which is not from their group, to face in this first round.
- The teams in 4th will be in the 1st round of Lower Bracket Playoffs.
The winners of upper bracket advance in the bracket, while the losers move to the lower bracket and have the last chance not to be eliminated.
A Semifinal e Grand final will take place from the 17th to the 19th of February and, unlike the other confrontations, in the final the confrontation format will be best of 5, in which they will be able to play up to 5 maps chosen by the teams in confrontation to crown the world champion.
