Capcom kindly provided us with a copy of each of the three titles for review, and now you can check out the review of Resident Evil 4.

The same Resident Evil 4 we know and love 3p1o1

Launched in 2005 for the Nintendo GameCube, Resident Evil 4 reinvented the franchise by abandoning fixed camera angles and positioning it over the protagonist's shoulder. It was a huge innovation for the time: it was now possible to shoot freely, explore the scenarios in a much more dynamic way and place enemies faster and in greater numbers on the screen.

Leon, the game's protagonist and ashley. Both are in a castle, leon looking up as if he sees something surprising.
Leon will suffer to keep Ashley safe and sound

Six years after the incident of Raccoon City, Leon Scott Kennedy no longer the rookie cop from Resident Evil 2. Now a secret agent of the American government, he is given the mission to rescue Ashley Graham, the president's daughter – who was kidnapped by a cult with dark intentions. Alone in a village in rural Spain, Leon will face enemies smarter than Raccoon's zombies while discovering that things aren't as simple as they seem.

A work of art, even with its limitations 6ib1t

Resident Evil 4 continues to shine 14 years after its original release. The gameplay, even with its limitations, is a lot of fun. in the best style resident evil, you will face hours of aggressive enemies and gigantic mutated monsters.

The title brought a greater focus on exploring environments: you find items that can be sold to the Merchant. The money from the sale can be used to improve your weapons or buy new ones. They are varied and using them intelligently is crucial.

Screenshot of leon's item case in resident evil 4. Contains a pistol, a shotgun, a submachine gun, four healing herbs, 5 incendiary grenades, 1 flash grenade (which gives off a glow that temporarily blinds enemies), 1 golden egg and a series of ammunition for these weapons.
Organizing Leon's briefcase in Resident Evil 4 is almost therapeutic

As a 2004 game, naturally some details haven't aged so well. The protagonist's control in the "tank" scheme is the main thing. This can be strange for younger players, used to games with freer and more dynamic controls. Much of the title's atmosphere, tension and charm is due to the cast gameplay. The pace and layout of the game's scenarios were designed with these details in mind. If this is your first time playing Resident Evil 4, keep that in mind and have a lot of fun.

Resident Evil 4 Anywhere 2m3h2v

The version for Nintendo Switch de Resident Evil 4 is based on the editions released for Xbox One e Playstation 4. In of graphics and content, expect parity with these versions. Character textures, weapons, items and menus have been remastered in high definition. All extra content is also present: Assignment Ada, separate ways and fan favorite: The Mercenaries.

Performance is also equivalent: the game runs at 60 frames per second both in portable mode and in docked. I played the game almost entirely in portable mode and there are very subtle punctual frame drops. In docked mode, these small frame drops are more noticeable. It doesn't seem like a difficult thing to fix if Capcom wants to invest a little more time in development to release an update.

Oh, and loading screens are practically non-existent. The time between opening a door and loading a new area is a maximum of 2 seconds. That's great: the fewer interruptions, the better the pace of the campaign.

Play Resident Evil 4 anywhere is a teenage dream come true. I have history with the game: I've finished it countless times on several different platforms. Take the Switch out of the backpack, press the button and having the full game experience instantly is very good.

The way The Mercenaries, in particular, gets an extra sparkle with this ease of turning on the console for quick play. Classic in the franchise, the mode is a mini game in which the objective is to eliminate as many enemies as possible in the shortest possible time, creating combos. It is possible to unlock several characters from the franchise, including the villain Wesker and the mysterious Hunk. The fast-paced nature of this mode is perfect for the Switch's handheld mode.

The Ghost of the Wii Edition 4y6w5i

The version for Nintendo Wii de Resident Evil 4 It is considered by many to be the definitive edition. In addition to being based on the GameCube edition, which has better graphics and real-time cut scenes, it brought for the console's motion controls. It is possible to aim by pointing the Wiimote to the screen, leaving the gameplay considerably more fluid than the other versions.

The Wii version of Resident Evil 4 is considered one of the best, especially because it allows aiming by pointing the wiimote on the screen

The re-releases of Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2 for Switch brought a number of unique innovations and features to the hybrid console from Nintendo. In addition to for motion controls, games also gained for amiibo.

The Resident Evil Revelations collection for Switch brought the motion sensor sights and even a special move to reload weapons

The hope was that the Capcom implement something similar in Resident Evil 4, but this did not happen. The game does not motion controls, menus accessible via the console's touchscreen, or any other features that take advantage of the Switch's functionality.

Verdict 62424m

Resident Evil 4 on Switch is a solid port of the Capcom classic. If you've never played it, this is a great opportunity to rediscover one of the most influential games of recent generations. If you've played it, it's the chance to rediscover the game with menus and textures and HD and anytime and anywhere.

All re-released franchise games cost $30. For us, the price is equivalent to that charged on the Brazilian Xbox Live and Playstation Network (R$150) if we take into the IOF fees.
