The novelties brought by robots at CES 2021 help in cleaning, education and entertainment, as well as helping in agribusiness and other areas

The new coronavirus pandemic continues to haunt us all, even though some vaccines have already been produced and distributed in countries other than Brazil. Because of this, the CES 2021 — the world's biggest technology event — will be broadcast online. Unfortunately for the consuming public, this also means that there will be no live interactions with robots, which is one of the highlights of the technology demonstrations at the fair. It is worth ing that this prerogative means more security for everyone involved, whether journalists or spokespersons for various companies. 2924b

Although we are still far from a I steal — Isaac Asimov's book of short stories on the domain of machines in the most diverse aspects — the robots at CES 2021 will represent important advances in fundamental categories, such as fighting the virus and helping the social/school development of children who have not been able to adapt well to the isolation period. In addition to them, there are also ads about machines designed to make manual work easier for human beings, ranging from honey collectors to pool cleaners.

Anyway, if you want to know about the robotic future, be sure to continue reading the post. And : treat robots well. We don't want a scenario analogous to the one Terminator, let alone angry replicants.

What are the top robots at CES 2021? 83k5g

From cute little critters to gigantic work machines, robots in CES 2021 are the most varied. Aimed at different functions, we can expect releases aimed at companies and also domestic releases, depending on the characteristics of the machine. The following is a list of the most surprising and innovative candidates that will be presented at the event.

Robots that handle cleaning 3p652a

When considering the pandemic, it should come as no surprise that several companies have bet on creating robots responsible for keeping places sanitized. The cleaner, the lower the chance of the coronavirus to spread and, therefore, the lower the risk of contagion – as long as everyone collaborate, of course, wearing masks and washing hands whenever possible.

First on the list of robots at CES 2021 is a machine called chorus bot, announced by the South Korean company Hills Engineering. In mid-2020, a young Indian engineer had created a robot with the same name, but there is no further information about this similarity, that is, whether the company bought the robot or if they are two different machines. Anyway, the South Korean model is autonomous, uses the “arms” to identify dirty areas through a scanner and the sanitizes by means of ultraviolet rays. Apparently, he is a model destined for hospitals and health centers, so don't count victory in having one of these at home.

A LG stated that it will launch a similar robot, intended for areas with a lot of movement and recurrent age of people, such as public transport, restaurants, hotels, cinemas and other similar places. Like the previous one, the LG models, called CLOi, will be autonomous and will be able to identify dirtier areas in order to sanitize them with ultraviolet rays. According to the information given by the company, this one that will probably be one of the flagships of robots at CES 2021 manages to clean surfaces in the time of 15 to 30 minutes, all with a single battery charge. Ah, it can be monitored with smartphones e tablets also, and has a mechanism that detects the presence of humans to reduce the emission of rays.

A Ubtech Robotics, a Chinese robot development company, made it clear that it will not be in debt in this area and announced two ultraviolet ray cleaning machines. are called adibot-A e adibot-S, and the difference between the two is in the size and, of course, in the price. Yes, they have already announced the price as well: 40.000 dollars (R$214.000,00, approximately) for the large model and 20.000 dollars (R$107.000,00, approximately) for the small model (and mobile devices).

It is possible that other models, intended for fighting viruses, of robots at CES 2021 will appear, so it's worth keeping an eye out.

Robots focused on education and entertainment 3g1p4l

Social isolation has affected everyone, of that there is no doubt. However, two of the age groups most impacted by this problem are at opposite ends of the spectrum: children and the elderly. Children are at a stage of development, whether language, social skills, empathy or understanding of the world, while the elderly are more vulnerable to illness and often end up being alone for long periods of time.

Moxie is a friendly robot that helps children to develop age-appropriate cognitive skills and also improve their focus on studies. Nevertheless, he (or she) was programmed with the help of child education specialists. You can put your child to talk to the robot, and he teaches life lessons by telling stories about respect, empathy and the like. It's not the same as having someone else there, but it's already a big help.

Directly from Japan, the Yukai Engineering — which, I imagine, lives up to its name, given that Yukai can mean agradável ou content — brought you the cutest entertainment robots in the industry. A few years ago, the company launched the Qoobo, which is basically a pillow with a tail that responds to touches, voice and other ambient noises. In 2021, the Petit Qoobo, a smaller and just as cute version of the robotic pad. There are rumors of an updated version of Bocco Emo too (no, it's not a robot that plays My Chemical Romance), a friendly little robot that keeps company.

Also from Japan, possibly the kindest (and snug) robot announcement at CES 2021 came from Vanguard Industries. called moflin and driven by a campaign in the Kickstarter, this adorable little thing works like a real pet. He is a very fluffy acorn that responds to ambient sound and, through artificial intelligence, develops a personality of its own, understands people's different personalities, evolves over time and has many different emotions. I don't know if you guys noticed, but at least I'm very excited about this one.

Focused on elderly isolated in the pandemic, the company CareClever announced the cutii, an autonomous robot that allows older warriors to communicate with family without using the phone. The robot is practically a walking television screen, offering options for cognitive exercises and entertainment. Rumor has it he can connect to other robots too, sort of helping with the social part of the thing, but on that we'll have to wait and see.

Robots that make work easier and solve problems 2431x

What kind of problems do they solve? You must be asking yourself. Well, all the robots at CES 2021 and shown here solve problems, whether it's hygiene in the midst of the pandemic or sociability for the isolated. These, in this case, solve heavy work problems, leaving some tasks more dynamic, simple and/or faster, after all, not everyone has time to spare.

I think the most interesting thing, when we consider the environment and the problems we have faced, is the hive controller, from South Korean Daesung (or Smart Hive, depending on where you're looking). This is one of the most curious robots at CES 2021, given that it pulls, with surgical precision and impressive speed, the bee honey produced inside the hives. This process takes a few days when it's people (specialized, by the way) and can go wrong. The robot, on the other hand, does everything quickly and efficiently.

I don't know if the intention was to give the robot the neutral name of the little mermaid, but the Ariel It is a kind of water vacuum cleaner. It is autonomous and can happily roam around the pool, collecting hair, packaging, bits of anything, leaves and dust from the water. The interesting part is that it is powered through a solar on the top, which makes it very versatile and useful when cleaning the pool.

If you are one of the 65 thousand Brazilians who like the page Agricultural machinery on Facebook, get smart with the John Deere — or Deere & Company — which received the innovation award with the X Series (It's not the Xbox, folks, it's a combine). This absurd agricultural machine uses artificial intelligence and complex algorithms to separate and improve the placement of both grains within storage compartments and along the machine's route.
