The ROM Hey protocols for Motorola Atrix 4G MB860 is for me the best version of Android Jelly Bean 4.1 for this device, so I'm looking forward to a stable version of MiUi JB protocols for Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-i9100. While she doesn't come out, I decided to test the miUi v4 based on Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0.3 to share my impressions here for you:
Installation and backup
Installation is no mystery, and follows what has already been described here for the AOKP, CM10 e PFitech, do not forget to do the backup your device (applications and data) with the Titanium Backup, machete backup from the launcher (if you use the Nova Launcher and it has this feature) and fully charge the device's battery (this is fundamental and essential). Still, I advise you to write to a folder at the root of my card SD o APK (installation file) do Titanium, from Launcher of your choice, Samsung Apps if you use it and the others that you deem essential, to be immediately installed on your device after “flashing” the ROM, in addition to the installation file of the ROM (ZIP).
Restart the device in mode recovery, back it up by NANDROID, once done, select the option of “report error" in "know more”, restart the recovery ( "reboot recovery”) and after doing the Data Wipe (Factory Reset) that practically resets your device, install the ROM file.
First impressions and launcher
The first boot didn't take long, it was quick. Who is used to ROMs based on the Jelly Bean will find the transitions a bit harsh. I found it, but everything runs very well. Using the NovaLauncher, transitions are a little more fluid. And since I don't like the UI of Hey, I always use the Nova Launcher, so for me the heavy transitions were not an issue.
Customization
Like all Hey the customization options are huge, even using a third party launcher it is possible to make big changes to the UI such as fonts, icons, dialer, SMS page, etc through the Theme Chooser in the option mix. Just multiple themes by itself APK and choose the best of each theme to create your own.
Connections and Signal
Regarding the connection, the 3G signal reception is excellent, as well as the WiFi signal reception, but there is no for tethering. Bluetooth is also working fine. Regarding making and receiving calls and sending and receiving SMS and MMS, the signal was also excellent. With respect to GPS it is fixing the satellites normally, but I didn't test geolocation with this ROM.
Photography and Filming
The MiUi camera is the standard for this ROM, very good, it has a photography option at up to 8mpx and 1080p filming. Both for photos and for filming the APK is very good, even the filming worked without lagging and without delay.
Battery
I used the ROM for a short time, but the battery consumption seemed excellent.
