One more addition to the list w da Samsung launched in 2020, the smartwatch Galaxy Watch 3 arrived in Brazil in two versions, with 1,2” and 1,4” (41 or 45 mm) AMOLED displays. An ally of your routine, the smart watch has several sensors to help you monitor your health, both for physical activities and for casual use in the office. In the last month we were able to test it and we detail our experience here in this review. 1r5r5o

Apparently, the Galaxy Watch 3 was baptized with the numeral “3” to avoid confusion with the Galaxy Watch Active 2. So, this is the “third” smartwatch in this recent lineup from Samsung. At first, it doesn't seem to change much from its predecessor (Galaxy Watch) in addition to being thinner and lighter (half the weight!), but under its shell we see the real differences.
There water resistance 5 atm, payment by function (Samsung Pay), blood pressure meter, electrocardiogram, blood oxygen meter, fall detector, sleep monitoring, menstrual cycle and asymmetry in the stride of athletes. On their functioning and effectiveness, we will explain next. It follows with the beautiful AMOLED screen, to be seen calmly in the sunlight, and has a better microphone (on the left side of the clock) and a better speaker (right side), both of which are easily accessible.

In of aesthetic reinvention, the Watch 3 retains the similar construction to the predecessor (first Watch), but the point is: as a smartwatch, it doesn't disappoint. Let's face it, smartphone design and hardware evolutions are more noticeable and essential than a smartwatch, as there is already significant improvement on the inside of the gadget.
Made to the classic analog clock, with two buttons on the sides (one to return to the previous screen and a “home”), it tries to adapt, in a discreet way, to an accessory that many are used to using without standing out (or looking like a “compact” version). from the cell phone you already use, such as other smartwatches). Depending on the dial configured, if the Watch 3 is in “always on” mode (that is, with the screen always on), in normal outdoor lighting conditions it will camouflage itself very well, really looking like a traditional watch.
Something essential to smartwatches is the rotating crown for quick selection and also for the protection on the edges of the display – for being slightly raised. The click gives a great feeling when handling, a tactile that raises the quality of the product almost subconsciously, after using it for days.

No Active 2 it worked by touch, simulated around the entire edge with the same functions as the Watch 3. The two are also similar when we talk about functioning: they basically have the same sensors, side buttons, microphone, speaker, processor and screen. The distance is created in the finish, as the Active 2 is clearly aimed at the who practices sports activities, while the Watch 3 is more casual (and more than R$ 1.000 more expensive). A last detail of the aesthetic part is due to the bracelet genuine leather.

Without many special additions, the Galaxy Watch 3 brings the traditional functions and the app store full of options. In sync with your smartphone, you enjoy the book, with the option to call or send messages to whoever you want. For quick answers, there is a list of presets editable (which can go beyond the common “Excellent”, “All right”, “Thank you”) and there is still the effective reply of voice messages, transcribed into text.
In “home”, you can navigate through screen shortcuts as if it were your cell phone, by turning the crown, in addition to being able to rearrange them in the sequence you prefer. O Watch 3 even calls them “widgets”, to make it even more intuitive. By default, there is exercise tracking (steps, minutes trained and calories burned), menu icons, sleep tracking, weather, calendar, music player and training modes (running, cycling, swimming). We recommend the widget Smart Things, from the smart home virtual environment, in case you have other Samsung appliances to control, such as your TV.

Depending on the display, it is possible to edit widget thumbnails on a single screen to help you quickly check your status. Still dealing with easy access, those who like reminders and don't want to opt for Bixby voice assistant (not yet available in Portuguese), maybe risk the voice recorder, whose microphone quality is better than I imagined.
To Notifications coming from the cell phone, which in many cases can be the main use of a smart watch, there is a nostalgic experience: the option to type with the keyboard T9, thing that millennials teenagers in the 2000s must very well, with pre-"era touch screen“. Nothing replaces QWERTY, but it is an interesting alternative from a reduced software and hardware point of view. If you prefer, you can only respond with emojis as well.

Within all widgets and applications, the Spotify That's what attracted me the most. In the “quick access” version (accessible by turning the crown), it is possible to control volume, track forward and rewind. With the app open, there are also options to repeat track/album and activate/deactivate shuffle mode, in addition to favorite songs. By the way, if you have music playing and want to go back to the home screen, an icon appears at the bottom of the display – when you click, the Watch 3 open the app.
Interestingly, only the default music player of Galaxy Watch 3 displays the album art, which the Spotify app doesn't do – except that you play tracks “bying” through this player app, which s music from the streaming service. Regardless of which version of it is open on the watch, on your phone there is a fixed notification that the Watch 3 is connected to Spotify.

Speaking of smartphones, the application for controlling the watch's functions is the Galaxy Wearable, the same one you use to configure the headphones Galaxy buds live, for example. There is notification management, sync options, the payment function via Samsung Pay, Activation gesture, the option to “Find my watch” and the transfer of music and images from the mobile to the Watch 3.
In of customization, you have a range of pre-installed displays, some editable on the watch and others only via the mobile app. Depending on the choice, the display interacts with reflections from metallic materials, simulated by the angle of the watch (when using the gyroscope). The curious thing is that the temperature displayed in the app (and therefore in the widget) is not always in sync with the smartphone's weather app. In tests I could see a difference of almost 10 degrees at different times of the day — and the watch doesn't update the temperature even if it's connected to Wi-Fi, unless you open the app again.

When the cell phone's bluetooth is turned off, several times a day the app notifies that the watch is disconnected, something counterintuitive due to the fact that the Galaxy Watch 3 do very well working on their own. A constant reminder on your cell phone (your main gadget) shouldn't disturb you, not least because the bluetooth connection of both helps to drain the battery even faster.
In of software updates — two in our testing period — it's ed first to the phone and then transferred to the watch at a (frustratingly) 0,1 MB per second. Since the last of these was almost 50 MB, there were a few minutes waiting to properly use the app to control the smartwatch
Battery 554u5p
The battery of the Galaxy Watch 3 hard two days for casual use, even leaving the watch with the screen off most of the time. On training days, with constant checking of notifications and use of a dozen functions for tests (and sleep monitoring), it reached 20% close to the 24-hour mark. By contrast, in the always-on display mode, it rarely went beyond a day.
To compare its capabilities: the 46mm version of the first Watch had a 472mAh battery, while this one brings 340mAh in the larger version (45mm), an overwhelming difference compared to the 247 mAh capacity of the model of 41mm. At this point, Samsung disappoints, as this model's lighter profile sacrifices dozens of hours of use.

It is easily carried by magnetic (in the only additional item in the Watch 3 package) with a USB-A tip, which works with both the power adapter and the computer, and takes 2 and a half hours to go from 0 to 100%. By the way, in a good-natured way, if you take the Watch 3 out of the magnetic in the middle of the process, it shows a “smile” and asks to be charged (depending on the percentage of charge).
Treating from a practicality perspective, it becomes customary charge it daily next to the cell phone. That is, in the time of housework (such as cleaning the house and preparing food) and showering – some moments of the day when those who wear a watch probably remove it – it can be recharged to last the next day (entire). Even those who have recent smartphones like the Galaxy note 20 ultra you can just leave the Watch 3 on the back of the cell phone for battery charging.
Health care 3a1u6j
For those who like race, it is excellent: in addition to displaying statistics (after activating the respective activity in Galaxy Watch 3), the watch shows a graph with the relation time x heart rate x km/h. In the advanced metrics section, you have light recommendations (from watch to wearer!) on stride asymmetry, ground/air time, stiffness and other items. At the end, there are total values for duration, pace, speed, step cadence and heart rate.
By far, what is most impressive is that the smartwatch gets this step information without relying on extra gadgets, as we have seen previously in other Android watches, with the competitor Apple Watch and the Nike + (along with Apple devices) – the capsule-shaped sensor, made to fit into the shoe. Those who keep an eye on their health and tend to pay attention to the smallest details will be delighted with this watch, which works in sync with the app Samsung health of the cell phone. That is, with both you have access to even more detailed statuses than usual on other devices.

In addition, it gives a slight incentive to practice at home: even if you're prepared for running and cycling, there's push-up, treill, sit-up, squat, stretching, yoga, jumping jacks and plank training. However, it is a pity that it does not display data on such activities individually, being limited to calories burned and duration of exercise.
Those who just want a good night's sleep will be happy to know that the device also does "sleep calculations“, with scores to help you get more insight into your health. But : this is a luxury watch and while it is comfortable and beautiful, made of materials, it is not very comfortable to sleep on. From my own experience, more compact watches and watches with different bracelet materials, such as sports watches and smartbands, bring more comfort in bed. However, it's just a matter of habit and routine until you forget it on your wrist.
Conclusions about the Galaxy Watch 3 6c1v4v

treat the Galaxy Watch 3 from Samsung as a tech luxury item, which suits the ease brought by a smartwatch with an intuitive interface. Its variety of sizes and the materials of its construction indicate the profile of the : one who is looking for the gadget for a routine of physical activities and also combines with an office routine. In general, it has better functions, more customization options and more fluid navigation than its predecessor. In addition, it is an evolution of the Active 2 (which has the same screen size, processor and battery capacity), with lower RAM.
With current suggested price starting at $ 2.519,10, the watch is the ideal gadget for those who have the latest smartphone releases. In Mystic Black, Mystic Bronze and Mystic Grey, there are versions of 41 mm — which can be found in stores like the americans (for BRL 2.519) — and of 45 mm — in the americans (for BRL 2.699).
In addition to these, there is LTE version in direct connection with the telephone operator (via eSIM), which completely eliminates the need for pairing with the smartphone, making the Watch 3 autonomous to make calls and stream music, for example. There are the same 45mm versions (Americans) and 41mm (Americans).

Comparison with other luxury smartwatches is inevitable, such as the Amazfit GTR (from the middle of last year), now available for less than Watch GT 2 for close to R$1.800. The first watch is a very economical Xiaomi outlet, with a GPS sensor and 47mm AMOLED screen, and the second (Huawei) has a 46mm screen, the ability to store 500 songs and a battery that lasts up to two weeks.
The biggest difference between these and the Galaxy Watch 3: only the smartwatch from Samsung It can work autonomously even when you are away from your cell phone with direct Wi-Fi connection. This along with the extensive list of apps, widgets, sensors and customization options reveals the superiority of the product.
